Phrasal verbs are phrases made up of a verb combined with one or two small words
(prepositions or adverbs), such as **on**, **off**, **up**, **out**, etc. These small words
change or add to the meaning of the original verb, often creating a completely new meaning.
For examples
- "Turn" means to move or rotate, but "turn off" means to stop something (like a light or a
device).
-"Look"means to see, but "look after" means to take care of someone.
1. Turn off – To stop something from working.
- Example:Please turn off the TV when you leave the room.
2. Look after– To take care of someone or something.
- Example:She has to look after her little brother tonight.
3. Give up – To stop trying or quit.
- *Example:* Don’t give up on your dreams!
4. Run out of – To have no more of something.
- Example: We’ve run out of milk. Can you buy some?
5. Pick up – To lift something or to collect someone.
- *Example 1:Can you pick up that book from the floor?
- Example 2: I’ll pick you up at 6 p.m.

13. Call off – To cancel something.

16. Set up – To organize or arrange something.
- Example: We set up a meeting for Friday.
