VI. Rationale
The most effective drug education is when the parents, teachers, and peers are all working
together, showing they care and actively communicating with the child on a regular basis. This is
the best way to prevent future drug addiction. Additionally, it helps the child see that if they
become entangled in drugs, there are people who care enough to help them and won’t support
and enable their harmful habit. This is the main reason on the creation of a school-based club, the
GUARD.
GUARD Club (Gear-up Understanding, enjoining pupils to significant Activities to Reinforce action
against dangerous Drugs) is a pupil organization of Villa Beltran Elementary School with goals
aligned with the objectives of the Preventive Drug Education Program (PDEP).
VII. OBJECTIVES
The following are the advocacies of GUARD Club.
1. To inform every learner about the disadvantages of prohibited drugs, its adverse effect in
their health as well as its negative impact on their future.
2. To provide sport and fitness related activities to pupils that will put away in them the
thought of taking prohibited drugs and abuse of it.
3. To conduct Drug awareness campaign/ symposium to parents and pupils.
4. To conduct environmental awareness campaign through tree planting activities.
5. To conduct activities such as poster and slogan making as a venue to engage pupils in
significant activities that will develop their skills and talents.
6. To address the needs of some pupils who have cases of smoking, alcoholism, and drug
abuse if there are such through Peer-Counseling.
7. To tie up with the Barangay, DOH and PNP in their activities with regards to Drug
prevention campaigns.
VIII. EXPECTED OUTPUT OF THE PROJECT
1. Knowledgeable pupils on prevention of misuse and abuse of prohibited drugs.
2. Pupils engaged in different activities.
3. Empowered pupils.
IX. MONITORING AND EVALUATION
1. Monitor the activities conducted/ spearheaded by the Club.
2. Consolidate and prepare accomplishment report on activities conducted.
3. Evaluate the result and impact achieved from the activities/ programs conducted.
