The confrontation

EXT DAY 10 AM
(Ravi gets out of the apartment and hugs Subha.He climbs down the
stairs as he speaks to his wife on the phone.)

Ravi

Tell me.

Yamuna
Listen..Siddhu will pick you up from the office as your car is being
repaired.

Ravi
Why the trouble? I would have come by the office cab.

Yamuna
Siddhu had some errands to do near your office.So I asked him to pick
you from the office.

(Ravi climbs down the stairs and is shocked to see Siddharth waiting
for him at Subha’s apartment.The father-son duo locks eyes.Siddharth
gets into the car while Ravi stands startled.Siddharth starts the car
and Ravi slowly gets in the car.Silently they travel a
distance.Siddharth stops the car and silent prevails between them)

Siddharth
How long has this being going on?

(After few moment of silence Ravi speaks)

Ravi
I dont have to discuss such matters with you.Start the car..Lets go
home.

Siddharth
You might not want to tell me but you must tell Amma.

(Ravi lets out a deep sigh and takes the cigarette pack from his pant
pocket.He lights one and smokes )

Ravi
 How long have you known this for?

Siddharth
I have known this for three months

Ravi
Does Amma know this?

Siddharth
She doesnt know this.(After a pause)You still haven't answered my
question yet.

(Ravi continues to smoke)

Ravi
Do you remember when I had to move to Bangalore for work,three month
ago? (smokes) That's when it started.

(Cigeratte ash and Ravilooks out to the window)

I don't know how to tell this your Amma.

Siddharth
(quick)
You and Amma had a love marriage.So how could you Appa?

Ravi
(Ravi still looks at the rear mirror)
I dont know but I love (Ravi looks out as he could not face himself
in the mirror) Subha now.

Siddharth
What about Amma?

(Ravi drops the cigarette butt and takes a new one but do not lights
it. Siddharth huffs)

Siddharth
What is your decision?

(Ravi remains silent)

Siddharth
(Siddharth speaks as Ravi remains silent)
 Appa…If you are okay lets go home and talk to Amma now.If there is
any trouble, I will deal it.If you do not want this, then you can
live with her.BUT, whatever you decision is,take it now.

(Ravi tries to light but fails twice and tries to do it for the third
time.Sound could be heard.)
