Modes of delivery
 On paper

 This is perhaps still the main mode of delivery. Listening, Reading and Writing answers are all hand-written on IELTS
answer sheets.

 On computer

 This mode of delivery available in many countries. Listening, Reading and Writing answers are all typed directly onto the
computer.

 Online

 This is being rolled out globally. Listening, Reading and Writing answers are all typed directly onto a computer, for
example, at your home.

 The Speaking Test remains the same: face-to-face, one-to-one with a certified IELTS examiner.

 Key points
• There is no difference in the content of the tests.
• There is no difference in the value of the results – e.g. a 6.5 is the same whether the test was taken on paper or on computer.
• Test takers will be able to choose which mode of delivery they want where both on paper and on computer are available.
