1 Introduction
1.2.1 Equipment
• Standard Field Service Tools
• Electrical Safety Analyzer
• Ultrasound Phantom (see ARTD)
• Formatted 3.5’’ HD diskette for saving system preset data
1.2.2 Materials
• 2 lamps for control panel lighting (P/N 48 30 977 LE300)
The same type of lamps is used in different SONOLINE systems.
• Lithium battery (P/N 99 06 496 LE007)
A battery in a system should be replaced every 3 years.
The same type of battery is used in different SONOLINE systems.
• printer cleaning sheets2 (depends on printer installed in a system)
1. Document “SONOLINE Prima Imaging System - Planned Maintenance Certificate”, U3.LH300.105.01.01.02 (or
newer).
2. See document “OEM Products & Accessories - Spare Parts List”, US-OEM.081.01.02 (or newer).
1. This document is a revised version of the former “TI 236” document, which is no longer valid.
2 Planned Maintenance
2.1 Preparations
WARNING When handling parts that may have had patient contact, take
appropriate precautions against exposure to bloodborne patho-
gens (see TI 246, “Prophylactic Measures Against Infectious Dis-
eases in Servicing”).
CAUTION Do not clean the transducer head with isopropyl alcohol or other
organic solvents.
Do not allow the transducer cable and connector to become really
wet.
6. While cleaning, check the transducer heads for physical damage such as cracks,
splits, air bubbles (sector transducers), or any other malfunction that may affect
their performance. Inspect the cable and the connection at the strain relief on both
ends of the cable.
7. Inspect all transducers and user accessible ports for damage, loose connectors,
bent pins, etc.
PM Clean the Air Flow Filter
8. Rinse the filter, using flowing cold water, to remove any lint. 1
Shake excess water from the filter, and allow it to dry before reinstalling.
1. You may also refer to the Operator’s Manual for more information on cleaning the system, the transducers, and the
filter.
CAUTION When working on the system with the cover removed, take appro-
priate precautions to prevent damage to static-sensitive parts due
to electrostatic discharge (ESD).
CAUTION To make sure that configuration data is not lost, do not switch off
the system while the battery pack cable is disconnected.
3. If the battery on the A21 Battery Pack PCB has been in the system for more than 3
years (see page 1 - 1):
- Apply power to the system,
- disconnect the cable from the A21 Battery Pack PCB to the A44 System
Controller board,
- replace the battery on the A21 Battery Pack PCB,
- write the replacement date onto the battery,
- and reconnect the battery pack cable.
(The cable may be connected in either polarity.)
4. Turn the system power off.
5. Replace the two lamps of the control panel lighting.
If necessary, insert a spare lamp.
2.4 Maintenance
PM Boards and cables
1. Check that all boards are properly seated and that all cables are properly
connected.
CAUTION Do NOT remove the battery pack cable from the A44 System Con-
troller board, or configuration data may be lost.
1. See document “SONOLINE Versa Imaging System - Repair Instructions”, U4.LH400.091.02.01.02 (or newer).
2. The message text depends on the selected language. With system software 2.2.0 or higher, automatic calibration
is performed only once a day (when the system is powered on for the first time).
3. See document “SONOLINE Prima Imaging System - Troubleshooting Guide”, U3.LH300.072.01.01.02 (for system
software 1.9.0 and lower).
4. See document “SONOLINE Prima Imaging System - Troubleshooting Guide”, U3.LH300.072.01.02.02 (or newer;
for system software 2.2.0 and higher).
1. See document “Video Imager Camera CCM 601 - Preventive Maintenance Instructions”, U0.LHOEM.101.01.01.02
(or newer).
2. See document “SONOLINE Versa Imaging System - Installation Instructions for Video Imager Camera CCM 601”,
U4.LH400.031.06.01.02 (or newer).
