Study Habits
Issues such as personal devices not being compatible, or having to share the available device
with family members; problems related to dependency on the internet such as poor or no
signal; the affordability of internet service and buying new devices; and the ability to operate a
new software among other challenges. These changes and challenges, in one way or another,
affect how pupils learn, their studying ways (Looyeh et al., 2017). As it turned out in the study
of Fouche (2017), class involvement, self-discipline, attention, assignment performance, and
effort are all study skills which positively influenced pupils', while Alimohamadi et al. Studied
the benefits of plotting in any coursework. Good study habits are
very crucial to learners. Every student has their own way of studying that contributes to their
academic achievement or even lack of it. The absence of study habits discourages pupils from
realizing their ambitions and also improving from their current standing. The results of their
study showed that there was a positive correlation between the students’ study habits and the
academic achievement (Rabia et al., 2017). According to Kyauta and Dachia (2018) study habits
are those behaviors and/or activities involving scheduling and time allocation for reading,
associating such time with particular motive and or habit, learning and remembering processes,
scribing down salient points, organizing and executing tasks and commands, and making library
visits. In the research study by Khanam et al. (2017), other abilities that can positively influence
pupils’ academic performance include the management of time that is the proper distribution
of time for the tasks at hand. simply free time, for example watching videos, or browsing
through social media. On the other hand, negative stance may be exhibited through such
comments as I cannot remember the things I studied or the lesson is too long. Attitude denotes
the degree to which, we like or dislike people, the things as well as issues, around us. Husain
(2000) views study attitude as the temporal inclination of students towards private readings
and other ancillary works which present a hopeful future for achieving academic excellence.
Study techniques include over the knowledge and proficiency of students in practical study
skills.

PLANNING
Common goods are knowledge and education. Knowledge acquisition and application is a
collective effort of the society (UNESCO, 2015). The tremendous responsibility assigned to
higher education institution (HEIs) in the Philippines is producing specialized competent
graduates in their field who bear the skills and attributes requisite of the ever changing work
place of the twenty first century (Magulod, 2017a, 2017b). One of the intervention that is to be
implemented in order to maintain quality and ensure that all university students have optimal
learning experience is to have regard for their learning styles and preferences. Learning style
refers to the method by which students learn and how they process information in their own
unique way. Understanding these different learning style preferences of students undertaking
applied sciences would ultimately help enhance the learning process. This is exemplified in the
work of Alavi and Toozandehjani who found that it is possible to improve the students’ learning
by knowing their learning styles and at the same time assist the students in improving their self-
actualization. every day. Or negative study habits which would be like skipping classes, failing to
write assignments, watching television or playing games rather studying, misplacing
assignments. It suggests that nothing distracts you, that you have a specific location where it is
calm each day for reading and completing assignments. Simply put, it refers to giving everything
within you whether it be physically or emotionally to the course and striving to attain higher
grades. And therefore it is about the approach you always take to read for school or for college
or even the preparations you make for lessons you are going to teach the next day if you are a
teacher. According to Mills (2017), Study habits are practices carried out by an individual on a
daily basis in order to enhance their productivity, effectiveness and recall in readiness for a
specific examination.
