AT A HOTEL

Beginner Level

Dialogue: Checking In

Guest: Hello, I have a reservation under the name Smith.

Receptionist: Welcome, Mr. Smith. May I see your ID, please?

Guest: Sure, here it is.

Receptionist: Thank you. Here is your room key. Enjoy your stay.

I have a reservation under the name Smith.

I have a booking under the name Smith.

Intermediate Level

Dialogue: Requesting Services

Guest: Hi, can I get an extra pillow and blanket sent to my room, please?

Receptionist: Of course. What’s your room number?

Guest: Room 305.

Receptionist: We’ll have them delivered to your room shortly.

Guest: Thank you very much.

Advanced Level

Dialogue: Handling a Complaint

Guest: Good evening. There’s a problem with the hot water in my room.

Manager: I’m very sorry to hear that. I’ll send maintenance up immediately to fix it. In the meantime,
would you like to move to another room?

Guest: That would be great, thank you.

Manager: We’ll arrange for your belongings to be transferred. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Guest: Thank you for your assistance. I appreciate it.


I’d like to report a problem in our room. Our shower is not working. Could you please send us a
maintenance to fix it?

Can I request for a new set of bed sheet?

Can I request to move to another room? Coz’ I have booked a non-smoking room, but this has a smoking
area.

I had an experienced that I smelled a cigarette in a hotel room even I have booked a non-smoking room.
