3. System Overview
Automobile safety is divided into active safety systems and passive safety systems. Active safety refers to the ability to detect danger in advance, such as windshield
Field of vision, lighting system, reflectors, etc.; the ability to avoid danger in advance, such as steering system, braking system, drive anti-skid, stable driving
Passive safety refers to avoiding or reducing injuries to passengers, such as seat belts, airbags, etc.
to identify.
The driver's airbag logo is molded on the decorative cover in the middle of the steering wheel,
while the passenger airbag logo is molded on the instrument panel above the glove box. Vehicles
equipped with airbag systems can also be identified by the airbag malfunction indicator light in the
instrument cluster (as shown on the left).ONAs a system self-check, the airbag malfunction indicator

The airbag electronic control unit is installed on the central axis of the car, below the center console.
The battery voltage is too low or the power is disconnected, the airbag electronic control unit can still work continuously100msabove.
Driver airbag (DAB)Installed in the center cover of the steering wheel, cannot be disassembled.DABIncluding gas generator, air bag, trim
Covers and brackets and other accessories.DABThe function is to receive the ignition signal from the airbag electronic control unit and ignite the gas generator.
A large amount of gas is generated to inflate the airbags, forming an air cushion to protect the occupants.
The clock spring is installed on the combination switch. The clock spring is composed of a spiral cable, a rotor, a housing, a wiring harness and auxiliary structural parts.
60
Car electrical appliances e6Passenger car repair manual
When the steering wheel is turned, the rotor and the steering wheel rotate as a whole, and a spiral cable with sufficient length is spirally wound around the housing.
Therefore, when the rotor rotates clockwise/counterclockwise from the middle position2.5When the coil is turned, it will not affect the reliable connection of the wire.
Front passenger airbag(PAB)Installed above the glove box on the dashboard.PABThe composition and function ofDABsame.
The left front collision sensor is installed on the inside of the left longitudinal beam of the front cabin, and the right front collision sensor is installed on the inside of the right longitudinal beam of the front cabin.
The function of the sensor is to transmit the collision signal to the airbag electronic control unit, which determines whether an ignition signal is needed.
The basis.
Airbag wiring harness is used to connect the airbag electronic control unit,DAB,PAB, clock springs and instrument panel wiring harnesses, etc. Safety
The airbag wiring harness includes the airbag module drive circuit, warning light circuit, collision unlock circuit and vehicle communication bus, etc.
The function of the beam is to transmit signals between the airbag electronic control unit and the airbag module and the vehicle, and to ensure reliable communication.
The air bag circuit harness can be identified by its yellow cable or connector.
The airbag malfunction indicator light is located on the instrument cluster. When the self-diagnosis circuit of the airbag electronic control unit finds a fault, the airbag malfunction indicator light will be on.
The full airbag fault indicator light will light up to inform the driver that there is a fault in the airbag system.ON
The indicator light will light up for about5s, and then turn off.
Right storage box assembly: The right storage box assembly is a structural reinforcement that provides collision protection for the driver's knees.
Right storage box assembly: The right storage box assembly is a structural reinforcement, hidden in the glove box door and integrated with the glove box door.
Seat belts: The main protection for passengers is still the active protection mode seat belts, which are used when the vehicle is in emergency braking, collision,
When the vehicle rolls over, it will firmly restrain the passengers in their seats, restrict the position of the driver or passengers, and avoid or reduce the possibility of the vehicle rolling over due to inertia.
To ensure that passengers get the maximum safety from the airbag system, they must wear seat safety

- Adjustable front seat headrests: Avoid collisions
Airbag system:
This airbag system is developed and produced by BYD Company.
The airbag system is designed to work at an angle based on the vehicle body.
Center line front30° angle. The deployment of the airbag does not depend on the vehicle speed, but on the gravity (G)
The force is measured by the crash sensor in the airbag electronic control unit.
The microprocessor in the airbag electronic control unit2The inflation device of each airbag module sends an operating signal to cause the airbag to deploy.
The clock spring at the top of the steering column allows for the fixed steering column and driver air bag inflator (DAB) to maintain a connection
When the airbag is deployed in a frontal collision, the knee guard works together with the seat belt to
The driver and front seat passenger are restrained in place, and the knee guards also absorb and disperse the impact of the driver and front seat passenger on the dashboard.
When the airbag electronic control unit detects a problem with any airbag component or airbag system circuit,
It will fault code orDTCIt stores the information in its memory and sends it to the instrument cluster to illuminate the air bag malfunction indicator light.
Testing air bag system components, reading or clearing fault codes, and performing repairs all require a fault diagnostic tool.

1. Overview:
Failure to follow the correct operating procedures during air bag system maintenance may result in accidental deployment of the air bag.
Thereby causing serious accidents. In addition, if the maintenance operation is wrong, the airbag may not be deployed smoothly when it is needed.
Therefore, before maintenance, you must carefully read the following precautions and follow the correct operating procedures.
2. Notes:
● Except for the operations described in this manual, it is not allowed to use electrical testing equipment to test any circuit of the airbag system.
● Install airbagsECUWhen installing, you must ensure that it is installed in the correct direction to ensure that it works correctly.
● It is prohibited to use airbag system components removed from other vehicles. When parts need to be replaced, they should be replaced with new ones.
● Disassembly and repair for reuse or other reasons is prohibitedDAB,PABand installing airbagsECUAnd other parts.
● It is prohibited toDAB,PABand airbagsECUSuch parts are placed directly in hot air or flame.
● After a minor collision, the air bag system should be inspected even if the air bag has not deployed.
● IfDAB,PABand airbagsECUIf the parts are dropped, vibrated, knocked, or the housing, bracket or connector are damaged.
If there are cracks, indentations or other damage on the connector, it should be replaced with a new one.
● Warning labels are affixed to the components of the airbag system and relevant locations in the vehicle. When operating, please pay attention to the instructions above.
● If the vehicle may be subjected to vibration during repair of other vehicle systems or components, the airbag should be removed before repair.
ECU.
● When the painting operation may be affected by overheating (93℃ or above), the airbag should beECU,DAB,PAB, Clock bomb
Remove the spring and other parts and put them away.
● During the maintenance of the airbag system, the airbag module must be loaded onto the vehicle immediately after being taken out of the transport device. If the work needs to be stopped,
The airbag module should be placed back into the transport device. Do not leave the airbag module unattended.
When inserting the capsule module, the cushioning side should face upward.
Before carrying out specific maintenance work, turn the power level up toOFFgear, and remove the negative grounding wire of the battery, and then
wait90sThe above can be repaired, otherwise, the airbag may be accidentally deployed. In addition, the removed negative electrode is insulated.

● The normal service life of airbag is10If the airbag service life is exceeded, the airbag and label must be replaced.
● Airbag inflation devices contain sodium azide and potassium nitrate, which are toxic and highly flammable.
Water or heavy metals may produce harmful irritating gases (sodium hydroxide is easily formed in humid places) or produce flammable compounds.
The air bag device contains pressurized argon gas, so do not attempt to disassemble the air bag device or damage the air bag inflation mechanism.
Do not damage or burn the airbag device, do not allow the airbag device to come into contact with electrical equipment, and do not store it in a place that exceeds93℃ environment.
