Ozone Layer

Name: Zoia Tahir

Mam:
Subject: Environmental Education.
• What is Ozone:
• Ozone is a gas made up of molecule
that are formed by three oxygen atoms.

• Its molecule formula is 03.

• Ozone is formed when the sunlight hits

oxygen molecules (0₂) and breaks them
up into individual atoms.

• These individual atoms then join up

with O₂ molecules and make O3 or
ozone.
• Formation of Ozone Layer:
• Formation of Ozone Layer:
• What is Ozone
Layer:
• ozone layer or ozone shield
is a region of Earth’s
stratosphere that absorbs
most of the Sun’s ultraviolet
radiation. It contains a high
concentration of ozone (O3)
• Cause of Ozone Layer depletion Or Ozone Hole:

• Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs),
• Methane Gas(CH4).
• Carbon dioxide (CO2).
• Green House effect .
• Global warming.
• Ozone Layer
depletion:
From industries and our day to
day life many gases like
Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s),
Hydro- chlorofluorocarbons
(HCFC's), halons, halogens,
etc. Get evolved in
atmosphere which are mainly
responsible for ozone
depletion, as it contains or
produce Chlorine (Cl) atom.
• Green House
Effect:
• Greenhouse Effect
• A heating effect occurring in the
atmosphere because of the presence
of greenhouse gases that absorb
infrared radiation
• Greenhouse Gases
• Molecules that contribute to the
greenhouse effect and global
warming by absorbing infrared
energy emitted or reflected from the
surface of the earth
• Global Warming:
• Global Warming is defined
as the increase in the
earth’s temperature due to
the use of fossil fuels and
other industrial processes
leading to a build up of
greenhouse gases in the
atmosphere.
• These gases include carbon
dioxide methane, nitrous
oxide and
chlorofluorocarbon.
• Effects of Ozone Layer depletion:
• Human skin Cancer.
• Floods.
• Glaciers melt.
• Drought
• Prevent of Ozone Layer:
• Minimize The Use of Vehicles. ...
• Use Eco-friendly Cleaning Products. ...
• Use Of Nitrous Oxide Should Be Prohibited. ...
• Pesticides Should Not Be Used. ...
• Ozone-Depleting Products Should Be Avoided. ...
• Renewable Sources of Energy. ...
• Reuse And Recycle.
Doesnt let the future go up in smoke. Save the ozone.
Save a life.
