entertainment, which may affect cognitive health.

C. Now, we will show you the news about brain rot being the word of the year according to
Oxford University Press.

conversations.
3. Users who repeatedly encounter and engage with a meme like this might jokingly
claim they have brain rot, acknowledging how deeply embedded the meme has
become in their daily thoughts.

IV. For this part, we will discuss on ways to prevent exposure to excessive brainrot.
A. First, what we could do is to avoid too much screen time.
1. This is especially true for children because they are easily influence by the recent
internet cultures and trends.
2. Parents should also supervise their children screening time to make sure they do not
get too addicted to their mobile phones.
B. Besides that, we should continue to engage with mind stimulating activities.
1. This includes reading and exercising.
2. By doing so, we could train our mind to ensure it will continue to be fresh and could
increase our retention span.

(Transition: We’ve listened to both effects and prevention of brainrot, so we will now conclude by talking
about how internet culture will evolve after this.)

CONCLUSION

I. Since brainrot has constantly been spreading throughout social media, it could potentially
become the primary language while communicating online.
II. Although excessive brainrot is not necessarily a good thing, as newer generation takes over,
the internet culture will also change alongside it.
III. Therefore, it is up to us to ensure that brainrot would not give too much negative impacts to
the internet culture.
