How to Play
Getting Started VALID SHIP PLACEMENTS
Each player begins by placing their fleet
Ships are placed by plotting thick line segments to the corresponding ship
length.
All ships must be placed.
Each ship must be plotted horizontally or vertically; NO DIAGONAL
SHIPS.
Ships may not intersect.
Each player will announce when their fleet has been placed.
Playing the Game:
The player going first will announce an ordered pair where they would
like to launch a salvo (make an attack)
The other player will declare if the attack was a miss or a hit, based on
whether they have a ship on those coordinates.
Both players will then mark their corresponding grids with either an X for
a hit, or a plotted point for a miss, and then the other player makes their INVALID SHIP PLACEMENTS
turn.
Each ship can only endure as many hits as its length (A battleship will
sink if it suffers 4 hits, a patrol boat 2 etc).
When a ship is sunk, the player in command of that ship must declare
“You sunk my ___________!” based on what ship they lost.
The last player with ships still afloat is the winner.
General Rules:
A ship’s endpoints may only lie on integer coordinates (no placing of
ships “in between” the grid)
Each player may only launch one attack per turn.
Players must be honest regarding hits and misses.
Each player must keep track of both players’ attacks.
See valid/invalid ship placement to the right
Have fun and keep in the spirit of the game!
