Let me begin with our Independence, on 15th of August 1947 when

India after centuries of foreign domination started breathing fresh air

of freedom none would have thought that this very fresh air would
turn foul and with passage of time get so much contaminated that it
would poison the whole of country's democratic setup and the person
to whom the responsibility of governing the country be given be the
fountain head of such contaminated poisonous air. Yes, this is all
about the politicians of India.

If we look at the ancient times Athens was the first Greek city state to
adopt the democratic setup of government. And when one has to be
king he has to undergo 35 years of education and after qualifying
several tests he is given the task of serving the state because they
knew that until and unless the head of the state has a proper
knowledge of philosophy the cities will never be free from its evils. So
if they valued education so much than why can't we see the silver
lining?

When we look at the developed and the developing countries we find

that the major issue we are lagging behind is education. Their literacy
rate is much higher than us. There is urgent need of imparting
education and awareness among people about the impact of
education we have in our lives. Not just from the point of view of
nation but on personal level as well. And who can be better person
than our politicians to spread the awareness. An educated person
knows better what wonders education can do and its importance in
everyday life.
We expect our politicians to be the role model of people and how
come an uneducated and unqualified person be the role model for
someone.

Having the right educational qualification is important because

education acts as a foundation for implementing policies. Only when
people are aware of the problem they can think of the solution. So
the potential candidates should have at least degrees in fields that are
relevant in the political arena.

In India we have a saying in Hindi "जैसा राजा वैसा प्रजा" So if

we have an uneducated leader how we can expect good educational
policies from them when they don’t have any idea about it.

Now just think of our Educational Minister to be illiterate. What kind

of educational policies will he implement? What kind of decision he
will take? Think about it twice. Whatever, in a nutshell it is evident
from the fact that good governance needs good leadership and no
state can have good leaders until and unless we have educated
leaders who take the responsibility to serve the nation.
