ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
As Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairperson and Committee Chair on Youth and
Sports Development

Introduction
As an SK Chairperson and Chair of the Committee on Youth and Sports Development, my
primary responsibility is to create opportunities that engage the youth in meaningful activities
that foster their creativity, talents, physical fitness, and community involvement. Throughout the
year, I have worked closely with my fellow SK council members and the barangay council to
plan and implement various programs aimed at enriching the lives of the youth in our barangay.
This report outlines the significant accomplishments, particularly highlighting the activities
conducted in December 2023 and May 2024.
Key Accomplishments
1. Approval and Allocation of the SK 10% Fund
As SK Chairperson, one of my primary responsibilities is the proper management and allocation
of the 10% SK Fund, as mandated by law. Together with the SK Council, we ensured that the
budget was effectively utilized for youth-oriented programs and activities.
2. Conduct of the Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) Assembly
As mandated by the SK Reform Act, we led the conduct of the KK Assembly to engage the youth
and ensure transparency and accountability in all SK programs and initiatives.
Objective:
o Provide a platform for youth to express their concerns, suggestions, and
feedback regarding SK programs and activities.
o Present the SK accomplishments and plans for future projects.
Details of the Event:
o The SK Council presented a detailed report on the financial
expenditures, including the allocation and utilization of the 10% SK
Fund.
o A participatory discussion allowed the youth to propose new ideas and
programs for the upcoming year.
Impact:
o Strengthened the relationship between the SK Council and the youth by
promoting inclusivity and open dialogue.
o Ensured accountability and transparency in the governance of SK funds and
projects.
3. Christmas Parol-Making Competition (December 2023)
To celebrate the holiday season and promote the spirit of Christmas, We organized a Parol-
Making Competition in December 2023.
Objective: Encourage youth participation in a festive activity while developing their
creativity and craftsmanship.
Details of the Event:
o The competition was open to all young individuals and youth organizations in
the barangay.
o Participants used recycled materials to align with environmental
sustainability goals.
o The top three winners were recognized and awarded prizes during the
Barangay Christmas Program.
o Impact:
The event fostered a sense of camaraderie and teamwork among
the participants.
It showcased the artistic talents of the youth, inspiring them to take
pride in their cultural heritage.
4. Barangay Festival Celebration Activities (May 2024)
In celebration of our annual barangay festival in May 2024, the SK Council spearheaded various
activities aimed at promoting sportsmanship, talent development, and recreational engagement.
1. Basketball League
o A barangay-wide basketball tournament brought together teams from
different zones and groups in the community.
o The event encouraged physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
o Winners were awarded trophies and medals.
2. Ms. Katipunan 2024 Pageant
o The SK Council organized a beauty and talent pageant as a highlight of
the festival.
o Objective: Showcase the confidence, intelligence, and poise of young women in
the barangay.
o Impact:
The event empowered young women by giving them a platform to
express their ideas and talents.
3. Mobile Legends Tournament
o Recognizing the popularity of e-sports among the youth, we held a Mobile
Legends tournament.
o The event encouraged strategic thinking, teamwork, and friendly competition.
o Winning teams were awarded cash prizes.
4. Active Participation in Barangay Sessions
As a member of the barangay council, I have consistently attended barangay sessions and
contributed to discussions, particularly on issues concerning the youth and sports development.
Conclusion and Impact
The activities conducted over the past year have significantly contributed to the holistic
development of the youth in our barangay. By organizing engaging events such as the Parol-
Making Competition, Basketball League, Ms. Katipunan Pageant, and Mobile Legends
Tournament and the KK Assembly, we have fostered creativity, sportsmanship, and a strong sense
of community among the youth.
Additionally, as SK Chairperson, we fulfilled our duty to approve and allocate the 10% SK Fund
to various youth-oriented appropriations, ensuring the effective utilization of resources for the
benefit of our programs. These accomplishments serve as a testament to the collective efforts of
the SK Council, barangay officials, and the vibrant youth of our community.
