After talking to several parents and Mr.
Cain, we will be adjusting how seniors come up to the
stage. We will still line up as first come first serve, but we will take up names from right to left of
each row. Students will cross the stage in this order and return to their vehicle after walking
across the stage. Once all students are back in their vehicles, staff will direct everyone in the
first row to exit accordingly and go to the back of their respective lines. The next row of cars will
then pull forward and be the new front row. This will allow all parents to be sitting in the front
row as their graduate is being announced.
We will then repeat the process for all 10 rows.
This also allows parents to take pictures through their windshield or stick out a camera from a
window and take a picture. Please remember that parents and other family members are still
not allowed to leave their vehicle, but this does give you a better view of your graduate as they
are being presented with their diploma.
Please adhere to the guidance being provided by Portales High School Staff to ensure that this
will run as smooth as possible.
