Job purpose:
As a member of the Education implementation team, you will follow up World Vision project implementation
you’re assigned to by working directly with school staff, community members and key stakeholders. You will
participate in project assessments, data collection, and work directly in schools, supporting them with
implementing formal and non-formal education, teacher training, monthly peer learning circles, and school
stakeholder engagement, among other activities. Under the overall supervision of the Team Leader, your
role will involve following up with WV local partners and other education actors to ensure World Vision’s
education programming is delivered on time, on budget and to a high technical standard, as per the work
plans and project documents. S/He will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and
constantly works toward improving the impact of its benefits on those we serve. In line with the school
calendars, the education officer will be supporting training provision to school staff and education authority
personnel, while also being involved in identifying gaps and solutions to their project(s) and the overall
education realm in NWS.
Major Responsibilities
❖ Activity:
 1. Technical Guidance, Supervision, Quality Assurance, and Improvement:
  a. Facilitate implementation of specific project model interventions of the education technical project at
     the AP level, and ensure the quality of their implementation; based on a close coordination with the
     project team lead, education technical coordinator and implementing partners’ staff in the field.
  b. Monitor an assigned portfolio of registered children as per Sponsorship standards and in coordination
     with a group of volunteers and AP institutions.
  c. Participate in children mapping and monitoring processes in communities to ensure participation of
     children (including registered children and the most vulnerable) and their families in education
     community action activities.

  e. Conduct regular site visits to project locations in coordination with partners’ staff to provide technical
     input, guidance and coaching to volunteers and partners.
  f. Provide support to select and adapt curricula and interventions to fit the context, culture and audience
  g. Provide technical support to baselines, mid-term and end-of-project evaluations.

 h. Responsible for following up and monitoring the distribution of all projects items to project’s locations
    in coordination with WV education team and partners’ staff.
 i. Participating in setting the lesson’s plans and archiving all projects data.
 j. In emergency or response situations happening within the area programme, support Education in
    Emergencies programming; train volunteers or local partners for education programming
    implementation.
 2. Capacity Building and Volunteer Development:
 a. Builds capacities of local volunteers or local partners to understand education programming and
    interventions; supports training volunteers in core project model delivery mechanisms (e.g. reading club
    facilitation).
 b.Support the project team lead to build capacity of local education actors to improve the quality of, and
    access to, schools for children, including those with disabilities.
 c. Build social capital and trust within the community (shared values, understanding, etc.) to enable better
    working relationships to support quality education for children and to build a culture of learning in the
    community (outside of school).
 d. Train facilitators or volunteers who implement interventions with adults and children directly on project
   components, curricula, and how to work with the most vulnerable children.
 3. Advocacy, External Engagement and Partnering:
 a. Build effective relationships with local education partners (formal and informal education
    actors/organizations, children’s groups, parent groups, etc.) to ensure sustainability of programming.
 4. Research, Evidence, Reporting, and Knowledge Management:
 a. Create space and time with volunteers and partners to reflect on what is learned through
    implementation.
 b. Facilitate opportunities for local volunteers and partners to document good practices from project
    activities.
 c. Support the project team lead to ensure that qualitative and quantitative education-related data and
    information for input into Horizon and other World Vision reports (e.g. Annual Review, Support Offices
    reports, global impact-related reports)
 d. Incorporate children’s feedback on programme activities into knowledge sharing sessions and debrief
    with children’s groups (e.g. reading camp participants or students’ councils) to let them know how their
    opinions have affected implementation
 e. Participate in, and share learning through, the Education Community of Practice.
 5. Safeguarding:
 a. Report adult and child safeguarding incidents for designated area programmes (Levels 1-3)
 b. Support proper implementation of the office’s Safeguarding Incident Preparedness Plans at local area
    programme level.

Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role
  1. Required Professional Experience:
  •   2‐3 years of work experience in the field of education.
  •   Experience working with humanitarian agencies in NWS.
  •   Good background about the integrated CP activities with education.
  •   Knowledge and understanding of how to apply a systematic approach to education programming.
  •   Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
  •   University degree in education or related field.

    4. Language Requirements:
    -       Essential: Arabic is a must.
    -       Desired: Strong English communication skills.
