STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
It is a true adage that success acts as the locus for opportunity and preparation to
intersect. Being an excited and curious individual, I have always engaged in experiences
that have not only pushed me out of my comfort zone but have also brought out the best
in me. All my endeavour thus far have made me who I am, and have also paved the way
for all my future undertakings.
It was my inquisitive bent of mind that had me exploring the world around me and
subsequently had me inclined to the realm of business. Hailing from a family of
entrepreneurs, I had an early exposure to business and management, in the form of
dinner table discussions and site visits. As I grew up, this inclination started to burgeon,
after which, there was no turning back. During the course of my Business
Administration (Human Resource Management studies, I was introduced to the
intricacies of Entrepreneurship and learned to create business plans and customer
surveys. I had a glimpse of the functioning of a business as I interned at Brain Consult
Limited As a part of the Executive Secretary’s I was responsible for Managed
executives’ calendar, answered 20+ telephone calls daily, prepared invoices, memos,
reports, and recorded accurate minute of meetings. Prepared business proposals for
appropriate stakeholders. Developed and implemented an efficient performance
appraisal system. Increased office efficiency by overhauling the company’s filing
system. Maintained and nurtured relationships with clients and Filed courts cases and
documented legal information. This experience considerably braced my communication
skills and gave me a glimpse of the professional world.
Moreover, my participation in a host of extracurricular activities has helped unleash the
interpersonal side of me. From partaking Environmental clean-up initiatives -
Participating in community clean up events such as cleaning local playground or natural
areas to show dedication to preserving land and human health. Performance appraisal
workshops - Leading or hosting workshops where colleagues can understand various
sections of appraisal forms as well as how to fill the forms thereby promoting
performance assessments. Network event setups – Organizing or arranging end of year
network event with Hayfron-Benjamin Barristers and Solicitors thereby strengthening
business relations and networks. I have never left any opportunity unattended. These
experiences have taught me the value of working in a team, have made me more
confident, and have braced my communication skills.
I chose Prifysgol Bangor University because of its great reputation, its renowned
academic excellence, and good industry links as well as flexible postgraduate schemes. I
firmly believe that the right education in the right school will open doors of
advancement in my chosen field of study. I am applying after carefully reviewing the
course curriculum. Since the research focus and facilities available in your university
complement my research interests and requirements, I believe that being a student in
your University would not only empower my career development but would give me the
framework to utilize my full potentials. United Kingdom has the reputation of offering
high-quality education and receiving students world internationally over for many years.
Qualification obtained from United Kingdom is valued worldwide and most especially
in my country. Employer’s value graduates from United Kingdom. Experience has
shown that these graduate are well trained, have the required skills and deliver great
results. This is why I choose to further my studies in United Kingdom to become more
valuable in the job market, which will enable me to reach my future goal. With this
program, I will be able to perform different roles with much efficiency and confidence
that are needed for globally and community development and promoting business and
marketing.
Being the elderly child in my family, it is my responsibility to take care of my family
venture and elevate it to the next level. For the same, I need a higher education program
that can equip me with the requisite skills to grow and excel. After completing the
program, I will be returning to Ghana to apply all the knowledge and skills towards
upgrading my family business. I believe my background, skills and ambition will allow
me to be a valuable asset to your business and marketing program, Given the chance, I
will prove to be a valuable addition to My family and Ghanaians community.
