Invitation to the India-Canada Roundtable on

“Clean Technology in the Northeast Region of India”


on February 27, 2016 at 10:00 at the Board Room, Hotel Pinewood, Shillong, Meghalaya 793001

Dear Shri ,

The High Commission of Canada in India, in partnership with the Indian Chamber of Commerce North
East Initiative, is organizing an India-Canada Roundtable on “Clean Technology in the Northeast Region
of India”. The roundtable will focus on the requirements and adoption of clean technology in Northeast
India and is part of The Act East Business Show “Strengthening SE Asian ties with the NE India” organised
by the Government of Meghalaya and the North Eastern Council in partnership with the Indian Chamber
of Commerce.

The objectives of the Roundtable are:

1. To engage the State Energy Development Agencies, Municipalities, Urban Local Bodies, and Oil
& Gas companies in the Northeast Region on the current clean technology requirements and
adoption.
2. To share information on developments in clean technology both internationally (Canadian, for
example) and in India.
3. To encourage Canadian clean technology companies to collaborate on and take up projects in
the Northeast Region.
4. To develop a strategy for specific initiatives in the Northeast Region that will result in the
adoption of clean technologies and sustainable hydro projects.

We are writing to invite you to kindly participate in the Roundtable Discussion on 27 th February 2016 at
Shillong.

The Canadian Delegation would include the following (with few more prospective participants –
confirmation awaited) :
