2. For the circuit below, position the voltmeter and ammeter to measure VA-B, and an
ammeter to calculate I3. Explain how to measure R1.
To measure R1: disconnect the battery, remove R1 from the circuit and reconnect it to the
multimeter separately. On the multimeter select 2 kΩ and place the probes in the Ω and COM
ports.
To measure VA-B: On the multimeter select DC and choose the scale 20 V. Place the probes in V
and COM. It must be connected in parallel.
To measure I2: On the multimeter select 2 mA and place the probes in mA or µA and COM. It
must be connected in series.
