INTRODUCTION TO 5G TECHNOLOGY
5G is the 5th generation mobile network. It is a new global wireless standard after
1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. 5G enables a new kind of network that is designed
to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines,
objects, and devices.
Speed of 5G
5G can deliver speeds up to 20 Gbps in ideal conditions. That’s nearly 200 times
faster than the 4G network. Your location, network provider, and device
capabilities all influence that rate, but significant improvements in speed and
performance can be expected from 5G in everyday scenarios.
4G V/s 5G
Theoretically speaking, 5G will be much faster than 4G. Under ideal conditions,
5G download rates can exceed 10 gigabits per second. That’s up to 100 times
quicker than 4G, and it’s unquestionably the level of performance required for
an increasingly connected society.
Even now, with 5G technology still in its early stages of development, speeds
are lightning fast. This speed and capacity are important because they enable
new applications and services that weren’t possible before.
FEATURES OF 5G NETWORK
The most-discussed 5G features are increased speed and bandwidth. With 5G
speeds as high as 20 Gbps, the cellular technology brings a 10-times to 100-
times improvement over 4G LTE, the previous cellular generation. Cellular is
now a potential technology for use cases such as branch office automation,
augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) because WAN connections finally
have enough bandwidth to support those applications.
CONCEPT OF 5G NETWORK
5G is the 5th generation mobile network. It is a new global wireless standard
after 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. 5G enables a new kind of network that is
designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including
machines, objects, and devices.
APPLICATION OF 5G NETWORK
5G’s support for ultra-reliable and low latency communications (URLLC) is fast-
track innovation in a wide range of fields, including robotics, autonomous
vehicles, interactive gaming, and more. 5G networks’ efficient architecture and
resource management cut delay times from tens of milliseconds (with 4G) to just
one.
