My new home
It was the first night in our new house. The towering
structure gleamed under the moonlight, its surface reflecting
the city lights like a mirror. Inside, the air buzzed with an
unexplainable energy, as if the house itself was alive.
The house was a marvel of futuristic design, standing hundreds
of stories tall with sleek metallic walls that shimmered in soft
blues and silvers. Rooms were filled with furniture that adjusted
itself to your comfort level, holographic screens that projected
anything from serene landscapes to video calls, and a voice
assistant that felt more like a helpful roommate. On the rooftop,
an infinity pool glowed with a faint neon light, offering
breathtaking views of the stars and the bustling city far below.
As the night deepened, the house's central AI alerted us to an
unexpected phenomenon: a shimmering portal had appeared in
the main living room. Curious and cautious, we approached,
only to see what looked like another version of the house’s
interior on the other side. A humanoid figure stepped through,
its form glowing faintly, and introduced itself as a "temporal
envoy," claiming to be from the future. It explained the house
was built on a "nexus point" that could open windows to other
timelines—a secret feature we’d unknowingly signed up for
when we purchased it.
By dawn, the portal faded, leaving behind only the faintest
trace of its light on the sleek floor. The envoy assured us the
nexus was harmless but hinted at the wonders we might
experience living there. As the sun rose, we stood on the
balcony, sipping hot drinks prepared by the house’s automated
kitchen, and marveled at how much more than a home this
place had already become—it was an adventure waiting to
unfold.
