My First Day at Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology
It was a Monday morning, the 2nd of September 2024 when I woke up to get
ready for school. Like any other Monday this Monday was also fresh and my
expectations were high. I took a shower, then took tea and later put my self together to
get on my way to school.
When I reached at school, I didn’t have any clue of where I am supposed to be so
I went to the Academic Registrar’s office to inquire about which timetable I am supposed
to follow. The lady I found in the office forwarded me to Mr. Hillary’s stationary to get a
print out of the timetable I was to follow. When I was done with printing out the
timetable I noted that I was supposed to be in the practical lab which I coul’n't locate at
the moment so I decided to seek help from my fellow students.
Lucky enough the student I got to ask first was a year two student and he showed
me where the lab was. I moved straight to the lab where I found my other fellow students.
I entered and sat at the back because I am used to sitting at the back and sometimes in the
middle section of the classroom.
One of the old students whose name I got to know as “Blax” addressed us and he
gave us advise of how to conduct our selves and also welcoming us. He then told us to
register our names, students number and Emails because he was to forward them to the IT
lab inorder for us to be enrolled to the elearning platform.
Lastly, I then followed him “Blax” outside after I had registered my name and
email so that he could add me to the class Whatsapp group because it seemed like one
was already created. I then went back home after I was added to the class group.
