HOSTILE Tactical AI Tutorial 1.

0 by Josh Malbon

Sample Order Steps:

Enemy Scout activates during an Attack phase.
Draw 1st card and follow Attack order.
This order states: DEFENSIVE: 1d6 towards Player.
Draw 2nd card for which Target the Enemy Scout is after.
In this case, the target is Player. The 2nd card says Weakest. The Enemy Scout will
move 1d6 towards the Weakest player unit.
Draw 3rd card for the distance

1
In this case, the distance of the first D6 is 3. The Enemy Scout moves 3 spaces or 3
inches towards the Weakest Player unit. As a defensive move, the Enemy Scout
will attempt to stay behind cover.

!ALWAYS DRAW A NEW CARD TO COMPLETE EACH PART OF ORDER!

Enemy AI will always attack if Player Units are in LOS. If there are multiple
options, draw a card to decide which Player by using the Player box. The player
unit that fits closest to the order becomes the target.

How to use Shards

• Enemy Placement –
Place the shards around the map, where units would most likely be. Aces most
important (VIP, Prison, Safe, etc...) Kings and Queens less important. Jacks even less
important places. (The Latrine).
For each unit, draw 1 separate Hostile card, and place that unit where the matching
shard is on the map.
You may remove shards after each placement or keep them on the map to have
multiple units in same area.

• Mystery Objective Locations –

Take a number of shards depending on the number of possible locations of Hostages,

Intel, or other scenario objective. Choose one card symbol to be the Target, for instance
the King of Hearts. Mix that shard with others upside down and then randomly place
them on the map at key locations.

When player units reach within 1 space of an Objective Shard, they can spend an action
to inspect it. If it doesn’t match the target card, then it is a false target. The player will
have to continue to search the objective shards until they find the correct shard.

Activating Enemy Units

• Activating Enemy Units by symbol –

At the beginning of the match, use shards to mark each enemy unit with a certain
symbol. For each enemy unit activation, draw a card until you get a match. The
matching enemy unit activates.

• Activating Enemy Unit by relation –

For each enemy activation draw 1 card. Follow the white on black Player text down at
the bottom to choose which enemy to activate. i.e. The Weakest unit, Closest, etc.…
