The Caddy California

The ideal companion for travel and everyday life
The Caddy California is based on the fifth generation Caddy and is the newest member of the Volkswagen campervan range. The Caddy California is available in the California
short wheelbase and the California Maxi long wheelbase, with a choice of two 2.0 litre TDI engines producing 102PS and 122PS and a petrol 1.5 litre TSI that produces 114PS as well
as a choice of manual or DSG transmission. Well equipped and big enough to sleep two adults in comfort, the Caddy California is the perfect companion for your next adventure.

Reimagined, enhanced and designed

The Caddy California takes its design hints from the recently released Caddy Life, including 16 inch ‘Wien’ alloy wheels, halogen headlights with separate daytime running lights,
LED tailgate lighting surrounds and unique ‘California’ badging to name but a few. On the practical side, twin sliding rear doors allow easy access or loading from
both sides, while the black roof rails can accommodate items such as a roof box or bicycle carrier. Inside, numerous storage compartments, a folding comfort bed with dished
springs, slide-out kitchenette and the folding camping table with two folding chairs make the Caddy California a real home-from-home wherever you are.

The Caddy California’s folding bed measures 1,980 mm x 1,070 mm and offers the same
high standard of comfort as the beds in the larger California and Grand California. The bed
consists of a triple-folded surface with an aluminium frame and dished springs, as well
as a foam mattress with a removable fabric cover. The bed is positioned behind the
second row seats above the luggage compartment and also serves as a rear shelf. When
folded out, the bed is supported by lockable support points on the side wall and on the
B-pillar and can support up to 250 kg.

Clever details
The slide-out kitchenette is an absolute
highlight of the Caddy California and
is standard on all models. This mini-kitchen
includes a single burner cooker with
integrated gas bottle, cutlery drawer
and a storage area for utensils and food.
Also, since the kitchenette is mounted at
the rear of the vehicle, the Caddy’s
tailgate doubles as a weather-shield to
provide protection from the elements
while cooking.

The enhanced, practical storage pockets on the rear side windows hold essential items weighing up to five kilograms per side.
They are fastened at the top with two rotary fasteners and at the bottom with two snap fasteners, while at the same time, the pockets
serve as blackout blinds for the rear side windows.

Handy and practical, the camping table and two chairs are a great addition to any trip and because they are foldable,
they can be conveniently stowed in bags under the bed out of sight.

The Caddy California shows exactly what it can do – on a wide digital screen. The optional high-resolution Digital Cockpit 1 features two large displays which provide
the driver with all the essential information they will need. Volkswagen We Connect 2 brings a wealth of extras, and the free app turns your smartphone into a remote control.

recognise the same gestures as your smartphone. You can control navigation 1 and
multimedia functions, the air conditioning and the mobile online services that
are available from Volkswagen We Connect 2.

Enjoy a wealth of extras by supplementing the 10 inch touch-screen infotainment

display of the Discover Pro navigation system 1 with a Digital Cockpit 1. The high-
resolution 10 inch digital instrument cluster screen is perfect for displaying a 3D view

smartphone media library. Use the buttons on the multifunction steering wheel to scroll

Parking Position anti-theft warning system
BREAKDOWN CALL
In the event of a breakdown, we get to your location quickly. With ‘Breakdown Call’,
you can call for breakdown assistance from your vehicle with the press of a button.
The system will send your location and vehicle information directly to the AA Call Centre.

PARKING POSITION
The ‘Parking Position’ Service shows you where your car is located. If necessary, it can
also show you the fastest way of getting to it.

SERVICE SCHEDULING
You drive – Volkswagen ‘Service Scheduling’ looks after the rest. As soon as your vehicle’s
service is due, a notification will automatically be sent to your chosen Volkswagen Van Centre,
who will be in touch to book the service appointment with you.

EMERGENCY CALL SERVICE

SOS In the event of a serious accident, you can press the ‘eCall’ button to speak to the emergency
services who will automatically dispatch help to your exact location or, in the event your vehicle
is involved in an accident, they will contact you and will automatically dispatch help if you are
not able to respond.

LOCK & UNLOCK
‘Lock & Unlock’ allows you to control the central locking system of your vehicle – using your
smartphone, you can conveniently lock and unlock the doors and luggage compartment.

Everyday power
Engines. The Caddy California has a choice of petrol and diesel engines, together with
the option of manual or DSG automatic gearboxes, that allows you to choose the engine
that best suits your needs.

Dual-clutch gearbox (DSG). The Caddy California can be fitted with an adaptive 7-speed
dual-clutch gearbox. This enables fully automatic, smooth gear changes without
interruption of tractive power, and it also adapts to the driver’s driving style. You can
also shift up and down using paddle switches on the multifunction steering wheel.
