Myself, Deciding Right and Wrong

How do you describe yourself when you have committed a right decision? How about

if you have committed a wrong decision? Get a short bond paper, pencil and coloring.

ME AND MY DECISIONS

Divide the bond paper into two and draw yourself when you have committed a right

and wrong decision.

This is ME when I committed a RIGHT decision.. This is ME when I committed a WRONG decision..

Processing Questions:
1. How do you compare the two images of yourself?
 The two images are very different. When I made the right decision, I looked happy and
confident. When I made the wrong decision, I looked sad and unsure.
2. Did you have the same decision-making process for both situations? Explain an example for
each.
 No, I didn’t. When I made the right decision, I thought carefully and asked for advice. For
example, studying before going out made me feel good. But when I made a wrong decision, I
didn’t think enough. For example, ignoring advice and feeling bad later.
3. If you are to assess whatever decisions you made in the past 2 months, where do you categorize
them and why?
 Most of my decisions were good, like focusing on my studies. But some were wrong, like
rushing into things without thinking, and I learned from them.

Let’s Explore This

Suggested Time Allotment: 15 Minutes

Remember more about your experiences in making right and wrong decisions.

At the back of the same paper, explain the situations where each image reflects. Make

your answer in essay format guided by the following pointers.

This is ME when I made a RIGHT Decision:

When I made the right decision, I was thinking clearly about what would be best for me. For
example, I decided to study before going out with my friends. I knew studying would help me later, and I
felt good about it. I was calm and focused while studying. My body felt relaxed, and after I finished, I was
proud and happy because I knew I had made a smart choice.

This is ME when I made a WRONG Decision:

When I made the wrong decision, I didn’t think enough before acting. I decided to skip studying
and go out with my friends instead. At first, I felt excited, but later I felt worried and stressed because I
hadn’t studied. My body felt tense, and I couldn’t stop thinking about all the things I needed to do. I felt
disappointed and wished I had made a better choice.
Processing Questions:
1. What insights did you get from both the experiences of making a right and a wrong
decision?
 I learned that the right decision makes me feel happy and relaxed, while the wrong
decision makes me feel stressed and upset.
2. What changes did both decisions make in your life?
 The right decision helped me feel more responsible. The wrong decision made me realize I
need to plan better and not rush into things.
3. If given a chance, would you still do the same decisions? Why or why not?
 I would make the same right decision again because it made me feel good. I wouldn’t make
the wrong decision again because I don’t want to feel stressed and regretful.

You Can Do It!

Suggested Time Allotment: 10 Minutes

Write a narration of a decision you made in the past which you consider a wrong

one. Imagine how it would change if you apply all or any of the ways discussed in the

previous part of the module. What could have happened if the course of action was

different? Do this on a piece of paper.

A while ago, I made the wrong decision of not studying for an important exam. Instead of
preparing, I spent the night hanging out with my friends. I thought I would be fine, but the next day,
when I sat in the exam room, I felt anxious and unprepared. I struggled to answer the questions and
regretted not studying. I ended up with a grade lower than I expected, and it made me feel disappointed
in myself.

What could have happened if the course of action was different?

If I had thought more about what was important, managed my time better, and focused on my
goals, I would have decided to study instead of hanging out. If I had studied, I would have felt more
confident during the exam. I would have stayed calm, remembered what I learned, and probably scored
better. By making that smart choice, I would have felt proud and ready for the future.
What I Have Learned
Suggested Time Allotment: 5 Minutes

Write your answer on a sheet of paper.

How will you improve your decision-making? Write at least 5 things that you certainly

MOST SIGNIFICANT DECISION

more important than doing what we want.

analyze a concern/problem, the factors that may influence you
and your solution.

week of exams.
2. Three Possible Solutions
Solution 1: Study more and spend less time with my family.
Positive Consequence: I would be better prepared for my exams and might do well.
Negative Consequence: My family might feel neglected, and I would miss spending
quality time with them.
Solution 2: Spend equal time with family and study.
Positive Consequence: I would feel balanced, both supporting my family and doing well
in school.
Negative Consequence: I may not have enough time to deeply focus on studying and
may feel stressed.
Solution 3: Ask for help from family to manage time better.
Positive Consequence: I could organize my time more effectively and feel less stressed.
Negative Consequence: My family might be busy or might not be able to help as much
as I need.
3. Deciding what solution
I would choose Solution 3 (asking for help from family). By doing this, I can organize my
time better, get support, and still keep my relationship with my family strong.

Activity 1: Batas mo, I-describe o!

Directions:

In a clean sheet of paper, give at least three (3) situations that members of the

community violated laws in the Philippines and if you are to decide what corresponding

actions can correct such violations.

SAMPLE SITUATUION OR SCENARIO ACTIONS TO CORRECT VIOLATION

People throw trash on the ground. I would fine people for littering and hold
clean-up drives to teach everyone how to
dispose of trash properly.

People go out during curfew hours. I would remind people of the rules using
announcements and social media. If they
keep breaking curfew, they should be
fined.

People gamble illegally. I would ask the police to stop illegal

gambling and offer fun alternatives, like
sports, to keep people busy.

1. What did you realize after the activity?

 I realized that people often break laws without thinking about the
consequences. It’s important to follow rules to make our communities safer and
cleaner.

and well-being. Laws keep order and prevent chaos in society.

natural disasters, we should stay positive and keep smiling, just like many Filipinos do.

During the pandemic, I stayed positive by focusing on staying safe, keeping in touch with family, and
doing activities I enjoyed.
2. How did you feel when facing difficult situations?
I felt scared and worried at first, but I tried to stay calm and strong.

There was a young woman from a small Filipino village, faced many challenges during the
pandemic. Her father lost his job, and her mother struggled with health issues. Despite these problems,
Maria stayed positive. She started selling food to neighbors, using her savings to support her family.

What I Have Learned
1. Why is volunteerism and self-empowerment important in organizing school-community development
projects?

 Volunteerism and self-empowerment are important because they encourage people to get
involved and take action. Volunteers help create a sense of teamwork and responsibility, which
are needed for successful projects. When people feel empowered, they take charge of tasks, use
their skills, and inspire others to help, leading to stronger and more lasting community
development.

2. How can you influence other students to participate in school-community development projects?

 I can encourage other students by being an active example, showing how participating can help
them learn new skills and make a positive difference. I can also share stories of past projects,
showing how small efforts can lead to big results. By making the experience exciting and creating
a supportive atmosphere, I can help others feel their involvement is valuable.
