Pattern Notes:
While I have aspired to make a pattern that fits the size range noted, there is no perfect fit for everyone. If you’d like to
customize your hat, you can easily add or take away stitches/rounds until the fit is just right. For example, if you are an
adult with a larger noggin, you can increase a few more stitches and add rounds if needed. For a child, you can omit the
last sc round for younger children, or add another sc round for older kiddos.
The yarn I chose for this pattern has a lot of stretch to it. Try to find a yarn with similar characteristics for the best fit.
In addition, if you would like more elasticity on the bottom of your hat, you can omit the sl st round.
**Finished measurements shown above. If you get gauge in sts, but your row height is shorter or taller (more or less
rounds needed to get to 4 inches), you may need to add or remove a MC round to get the correct sizing. If you are using
a yarn that has very little stretch, try going up a hook size. Ideally, your hat should stretch 2-3 inches in width.
Stitch Guide:
sc2tog: Insert hook into st, pull up a loop, insert hook into next st, pull up a loop, yo, and draw through 3 loops on hook.
