CREATING AN ETHERNET CABLE USING UTP CABLE AND UTP
CONNECTOR

Straight-through Cable
Picture Description
Step 1: Strip the cable jacket for about
1.5 inches using a stripper or Crimping
tool
Step 2: Spread the four pairs of twisted
wires apart.
Step 3: Untwist the pairs of twisted
wires therefore later can be align to its
preferred arrangement (T568B)
Step 4: After alignment, Cut the wires
for about 0.5 inches as straight as
possible
Step 5: carefully insert the wires into
the modular connector (RJ45).
Step 6: put the connector all the way
inside the crimping tool and squeeze it
Step 7: Repeat the process from steps
1-6 to make the other side of the
cable. (T568B)
Step 8:Test or check if the cables are
working using a cable tester. See if the
green lights are in appropriate
patterns/positions.
Crossover Cable
