INTRODUCTION
Kit covers timing belt replacement on Ford 1.6 Duratec engines with variable valve timing. Camshaft,
crankshaft and flywheel pins are also suitable for many other petrol and diesel Ford engines.
Used to lock the camshafts in their timed position when engine repair or rebuild requires the cam pulleys
to be removed and timed.

INSTRUCTION 4. Crankshaft Locking Tool

This tool locates into slots in the back of the camshafts as shown.

(D) is inserted in the flywheel to ‘lock’ the crankshaft at TDC No.1 cylinder,
before the Flywheel Locking Tool is fitted.(Fig.2)

the camshafts in the correct timing position via slots located at the rear of the

For timing applications it is important to ensure that the crankshaft is at TDC
