Gary Chapman wrote of four college students who showed up at his North Carolina church. After only a couple of weeks, they offered their services to the church. He thought they were trying to improve their resume, and were looking for leadership jobs. He was shocked when they said No, No. We are not interested in leadership positions; were talking about service. Gary Chapman then writes. Throughout that summer not only did they wash dishes, clean ovens and mop floors, but they also washed buses, trimmed grass, and cleaned commodes. The people who were active in our church that summer have never forgotten the boys from California. I read that and realized I have a church full of people like that too. Thanks for being servants. If you were born before 1946, you belong to the Builder Generation. (Im a Boomer 19461964). You are known as Builders because you built this nation into what it is. Youve been shaped mostly by WWII, The Depression and the church. Tom Brokaw called you the Greatest Generation. I wanted to thank you for the foundation and environment you provided for my generation. Your faith in Christ has been our moral compass. There are those who want to take us off course, so I thank you for staying strong for Christ and this nation. Here is a great quote.
