Social media for breakfast
Are you getting bored of seeing photos of your friend’s tasty breakfasts all over social media? It's very
common for people to want to share pictures of their meals online, but why?
One idea is that people just like to share their experiences with other people. We've always chatted about the
food we ate last night in real-life conversations, and now we post pictures for the same reason.
Another possible explanation is that we like to help our friends find enjoyable experiences. When we post a
photo of an attractive dish from a restaurant, we recommend the restaurant to our followers on social media.
Food photos are also easy to take – we always have our phones with us, and smartphone cameras get better
all the time. Some phones now even have a special way of taking pictures of food so that it looks really good.
Finally, some people are great cooks, and posting photos of their food shows other people how good they are.
We all like to impress our friends sometimes.
A. People like to talk about the things they do
B. Technology makes it simple
C. People like to help others enjoy themselves
D. People like others to respect them
E. A question
