Absence types can be classified into Paid and Unpaid based on whether the employee
receives compensation during the absence.
Paid Leave:-
Paid leave is when an employee takes time off work and still receives their regular
pay.
This can include vacation time, sick leave, and other types of leave that the employer
may offer.
Paid absences are usually tied to an absence quota that is deducted based on the time
away.
Unpaid Leave:-
Unpaid leave is when an employee takes time off work without receiving a salary.
This is also called unpaid time off (UTO).
These absences usually do not deduct from any quota and result in salary deductions
for the period of absence.
Conclusion:
In SAP Time Management, you can create absence types for different kinds of leaves
(paid or unpaid) based on organizational policies. Paid absences ensure employees are
compensated during their leave, while unpaid absences involve no compensation. The
configuration of these absence types involves setting up counting rules, deduction
rules, and quota management to ensure proper payroll and time evaluation processing.
