Air Control
HVAC systems can be large and complicated in buildings
with many rooms, such as office buildings or schools. You
will need more than duct work to get air to each of these

Dampers
areas. That’s where air control dampers come in. A control
damper is a device comprised of blades contained in a
square or rectangular frame. This design can vary based on
the type and model of the damper. For instance, some
dampers can have a round frame to fit into circular
ductwork.

Even though they are similar in design, there are several

different types of dampers which will perform a specific task.
HVAC dampers can restrict the heating or cooling
of a room and regulate temperatures of specific rooms
within a conditioned area

Architectural
A louver is a ventilation product that allows air to pass
through it while keeping out unwanted elements such as

Performance
water, dirt, and debris.

Louver systems usually provide airflow, both intake and

Louvers
exhaust, to HVAC and other building systems, while
protecting these openings against rain. As well as providing
natural ventilation, an efficient louver system can improve
airflow to building systems.

Louvers will always attempt to balance the necessary

protection with the necessary air flow. In HVAC terms, this is
the balance between water penetration protection and air
performance.

Noise
A duct silencer is a component of HVAC system used to
reduce noise transmitted inside HVAC ductwork. Duct
silencers are also referred to as sound attenuators.

Control Most types of HVAC silencers contain baffles—acoustic media

made up of millions of air pockets. When sound waves hit
these air pockets, the molecules are bashed together and the
energy is turned from sound to heat. This effectively reduces
noise but also creates a pressure drop in the airflow.

Product Data Sheet
Louvered Face Ceiling Diffusers Square & Rectangular

Introduction

The performance objective of a ceiling air Diffuser is to deliver conditioned air

into an occupied space in a quiet draft free manner.

The performance efficiency of a particular diffuser design is usually judged

by the diffuser’s ability to rapidly dissipate the air velocities and temperature
differential of the supply air before it enters the occupied space.

Application
• Versatile Supply Air Diffuser for constant or variable air volume cooling,
heating, or ventilating.
• Designed for high capacity, Model Series “KD” can supply large volumes of air
at low sound levels and pressure drops.
• Directed air diffusion for space coverage with great flexibility in space layout,
geometry, and diffuser location.
• Return Air use to maintain matched appearance

Product Features
• 5 “application specific” air distribution patterns
• Available in wide variety of neck sizes ranging from 150mm up to 600mm in
75mm increments
• 1-way, 2-way opposite, 2-way corner, 3-way, and 4-way
• Core is removable to facilitate access to duct / damper
• Powder coated to RAL9010

Construction
• Frame & inner cores are made of Extruded Aluminium.
• The core is held in place & fixed to the frame by spring latches or lock sets for
easy removal of cores without any special tools.
• Foam gasket seals at the rear of the frame.

Diffuser Options
• SS304 or SS316 construction (Contact Factory)
• Lay in T-Bar – Model KDP
• Custom or optional RAL colours (RAL codes to be provided)

Accessories
• Opposed Blade Damper – Model OBD
• Square to round transition
• Plenum box Product Selection Check List
• Select Inlet (W X H) Size based on desired performance
Selection Procedure requirements.
• Determine air diffusion pattern required and air volume flow rate per outlet. • Select face size based on ceiling module (Lay-in
Application Only)
• Establish the required throw (Refer Notes for Throw Pattern) • Select core style based on application.
• Opposing Diffusers: Maximum Throw for each diffuser should be no more • Select volume control accessories, if desired (OBD)
than 75% of half of the distance between them. • Select RAL Colour
• Select the diffuser based on required Air flow rate against the limiting
pressure drop and sound level requirements.

Throw

The numbers shown are throw distances, in m, measured along the jet
trajectory axis relating to terminal velocities of 0.75, 0.50 & 0.25 m/s,
with the jet attached to the ceiling surface.

For exposed duct installation with free, unattached jet, multiply throw
distance shown in tables x 0.70.

Data for core patterns indicating L& S represent the throw distance at
the m3/hr referenced for the side shown. These non-symmetrical cores
proportion air based on pattern & neck size.

Terminal velocity is the air speed, in meters per second, measured in

the supply air stream.

SQUARE DIFFUSERS - KDP
Model KDP
Product Data Sheet
Louvered Face Ceiling Diffusers Lay in T Bar Type

• Constructed from stamped aluminium sheet to fit 600mm x 600mm T-Bar
ceiling grid systems.
• The face panel is constructed from heavy gauge aluminium. The edges of the
face panel are formed to a radius for a solid, crisp appearance. The formed
edges also stiffen the face panel and assure a straight and level surface.
• 4-way Core patterns, square neck, available to meet design demands
• Removable / Interchangeable cores and patterns provide flexibility to suit
changing space needs
• Powder coated to RAL9010

Construction
• Frame & inner cores are made of Extruded Aluminium.
• The core is held in place & fixed to the frame by spring latches or lock sets for
easy removal of cores without any special tools.

Diffuser Options
• SS304 or SS316 construction (contact factory)
• Custom or optional RAL colours (RAL codes to be provided)

Accessories
• Opposed Blade Damper – Model OBD
• Square to round transition
• Plenum box

The numbers shown in table are throw distances, in meters, measured along the jet trajectory axis
relating to terminal velocities of 0.75, 0.50 and 0.25 m/s, with the jet attached to a surface for a 1.8m
active length. For installation with a free, unattached jet 1.8m+, multiple throw value in table by x 0.70

With short lengths to 1m long, the supply discharge direction will be approximately 45° from the mounting
surface. For 1.8m lengths, the jet will attach and be parallel to the mounting surface (see figure1). For
lengths between 1m and 1.8m, predicting jet attachment is difficult due to varying conditions.

Sand Louver - KSTL
Model KSTL
Extruded Aluminium Sand Louver
▲ 100mm (4” deep) ▲ Vertical Blades Product Data Sheet

Introduction
Sand Louver designed to protect air intake from wind-driven sand. The
sand trap louvre is used as pre-filter for the protection against ingress
of sand and dust particles in fresh air intakes. Sand Trap Louvers
manufactured by Jersey have a high degree of separation of sand and
large dust particles, even in cases of high dust concentrations. The sand
trap louver is designed to separate large particles of sand or duct at low
air velocities, thus avoiding excessive dust loading on conventional plant
filters.

Model KSTL, Sand Trap louvers feature 6063-T5 extruded aluminium

blades.

The Louver sections combine vertical blades to separate sand from the
air stream, and the sloped sill ensures the sand trap louver is self-cleaning
by channelling out the sand or dust. Louvers are designed for both intake
and exhaust air service for commercial & Industrial applications.
