The Backstory:
It's the last day of school and everyone is restless. Will this day ever end?
Students are eager to begin summer vacation but first there are lockers to
clean out and a school assembley. One more lunch in the cafeteria and teary
good-byes to friends.
Suddenly, an announcement comes over the loudspeaker. Everyone is to go
immediately to homeroom and lock the doors. At first there is laugther and
eyerolling, but then murmers of "body" and "police" and "blood" drift through
the crowd.
Once everyone is back in homeroom and the door is locked, the teacher, pale
and trembling, tells the class a dead body has been found. A student at the
school.
Who commited this crime? Where did it take place? And how was the student
murdered?
That is up to YOU to find out.
How to Play:
This game is simple to play and so much fun!
One person should ovesee passing out the cards and having the envelope with the
answer. This person does not play the game.
1. Count the number of players you have. You need ONE MORE WHO, HOW, AND
WHERE card than you have of each player. This is the most important part. It is
what makes the game work. I included an extra sheet of cards so you can make
your own if you have more than 11 players.
2. Put ONE who, how, and where card in an envelope. Don't lose it! This is the
answer to your mystery.
3. Pass out ONE who, what, and where card to each player. Everyone needs to keep
their cards a secret.
4. Pass out one Detective's Notes page to each player.
5. Now the game begins! Players go around questioning the suspects (asking each
other questions) until they can solve the crime.
6. The crime is solved by the process of elimination. The question is, who can find
the answer first?
Rules for Questioning Suspects
1. You can only ask ONE person ONE question at a time. Then you need to move on
to another suspect.
2. Suspects must NOT lie when asked a yes or no question.
3. Suspects *might* just lie at other times...
4. Some suspects might accept bribes...get creative.
5. Remember...criminals aren't always honest....people might try to overhear
conversations or peek at your notes.
6. BE CAREFUL
