● Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu is an icon citadel set high in the Andes mountains in Peru above the urubamba
river valley . IT was built in the 15th century or mid 16th century Machu Picchu was built in
classic car style with polished dry stone walls; its three primary are the Intihuatan. The temple
of the sun and the room of the three windows it was also called "lost city of Inca '' Machu"
Picchu was declared a peruvian historic sanctuary in 1918 and a UNESCO World Heritage site
in 1983 on 7th July 2017 Machu Picchu was chosen us one of the new seven wonders of the
modern world.
● Petra
Petra is famous for its rocket architecture and water system Patra is also called the red rose
City because of the color of the stone from which it is covered. Petra is located in the South
Western desert corner of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Petra was the home of ancient
Arab in the 2nd century. It was ruled by Roman in 1680 petra was built by the nabateans in
around 312 BC and was we rediscovered in modern Times by a Swiss explorer in 1812 and
uncovered petra become ancient layers of sand hence and nickname lost city on 7th July 2007
new 7 wonders of the modern world.
● Christ the Redeemer
Christ the Redeemer located on Corcovado mountains Rio de Janeiro Brazil . It is the statue of
Jesus Christ . It was built by engineer Heitor Silva Costa , designed by Landowski and Sculptor
Gheorghe Leonida created the face. The material used in this statue is soapstone. The height of
the statue is 30 meters (98 ft) , 38 meters (125 ft ) with its pedestal width is 28 meters ( 92 ft )
and weight of the statue is 635 to 700 tons and it is located at the peak of the 700 meters (
2300 ) ft. It took nineteen years to build. On 7th June 2007 Christ the Redeemer was declared in
7 new wonders of the modern world.
● Chichen Itza
Chichen Itza Chichen Itza was a large pre-Columbian city built by the Maya people of the
Terminal Classic period. The archaeological site is located in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatan State
Mexico . The archaeologists believe the Chichen itza was built in the 400 AD . The temple of
chichen Itza has 365 steps one for each day of the year chichen itza was one of the largest
cities in the Yucatan in pre-columbian ERA it was a major commercial center and had sprawling
residential complexes. Researchers suggest the city even had suburbs. imagine hundreds of
Mayans traveling to chichen Itza everyday for work and trade. In 1988 the chichen itza was
declared as a new seven wonders of the world.
● Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in
memory of his wife Mumtaz construction was started in 1632 AD and completed in 1648 with
the mosque the Taj Mahal is made by white marble mausoleum
on the right Bank of the river Yamuna. various types of symbolism have been employed in the
Taj Mahal to reflect natural beauty and divinity. Taj Mahal incorporates the expands on design
traditions of Indo-Islamic and earlier Mughal architecture. The Taj Mahal attracts more than 6
million visitors a year and in 2007 it was declared a winner of the new seven wonders of the
world.
● Great Wall of China
Around 220 B.C.E., Qin Shi Huang, also called the First Emperor, united China. He
masterminded the process of uniting the existing walls into one. At that time, rammed earth and
wood made up most of the wall. It was 21,196 km in length. When Emperor Qin Shi Huang took
over the neighboring territories in 221 BCE and made it the Qin Dynasty, He started constructing
a 5,000-kilometer wall to protect his newfound territory. The wall was built with stones and earth,
a more important part of the construction was the glutinous rice.The sticky rice was used as the
mortar due to its adhesive property. Studies have shown that the sticky substance of the rice is
behind the endurance and strength of the wall.
