DESCRIPTION
Careclean Degreaser GP is a General Purpose degreaser based on mild
hydrocarbons and surfactants. Careclean Degreaser GP is used for
tankcleaning, cleaning of engineparts, filters and oil contaminated cooling-
water systems.

APPLICATIONS
Cooling systems
Along with the usual lime deposits, traces of mineral oils are often found in
cooling systems. These oil and fat deposits hinder optimum removal of the
hardness deposits when using acid cleaners (e.g. Careclean F Descalex P).
In such cases, it is recommended to use an emulsifying cleaner before the
acid cleaning, to remove these deposits. Careclean Degreaser GP is ideal
in these cases.
Spraying
Careclean Degreaser GP can be sprayed undiluted onto the components to
be cleaned.
Tanks
Careclean Degreaser GP can be used for the removal of most mineral oils
and fats in loading and storage tanks.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
Cleaning of cooling systems / circulation method
Fill the cooling system with a solution of Careclean Degreaser GP and wa-
ter. Depending on the degree of contamination, use a 5 - 10 % solution of
Careclean Degreaser GP in fresh water.
Allow this emulsion to circulate for 12 ‑ 24 hours at a maximum temperature
of 60 °C. After this operation, drain the cleaning liquid and rinse the system
intensively with water until the outlet water remains clear. Add cooling wa-

or evaporator water.

Spray method
Spray the contaminated objects until they are thoroughly dampened with on metals
undiluted Careclean Degreaser GP. Let the product act for 20 ‑ 60 minutes,
then rinse the objects thoroughly with water. • Emulsifying

Prewash: before cleaning with Careclean Degreaser GP it is recommended
IMO
to prewash with hot water at approximately 60 ˚C. For drying or semi-drying

oils a prewash with cold water should be carried out immediately after dis-
charge of cargo to retard oxidation and hardening of oil residues. After one
(1) cycle slowly start to increase the water temperature to increase effec-
tiveness of the prewash.
Spray method: spray the tank with undiluted Careclean Degreaser GP until
the walls are thoroughly dampened and then let the product soak in for at
least 30 minutes. Rinse each tank compartment for 45 minutes with water at
60 ˚C.
• Note: objects subject to corrosion should not be rinsed with water; in this
case Careclean ECS Quick Dry can be used.
