Prologue

It was World War Ⅲ. Russia was at

war with the Americas because they
assassinated Putin. NATO was
dispelled and China is trying to seize
Taiwan. Then, Russia dropped nuclear
bombs all over the US and Canada.
The US retaliated with more nukes and
soon a nuclear war began. Most of the
world was destroyed and a nuclear
winter began. Russia lost the war but
the damage done was irreparable.
Then, a group of passionate scientists
created a secret organization nestled
deep in the Amazon Rainforest where
Dylan the Monke was born.
Chapter 1
Dylan the Monke was swinging around
his jungle when he heard gunshots. “Oh
no” he thought “not the Monke hunters!”
It was after World War Ⅲ where most of
the food got destroyed. The humans had
resorted to hunting and eating Monkes.
When he went to investigate, he saw his
parents laying on the ground dead! Dylan
was devastated and tried to retaliate by
throwing poop at the hunters. After
hitting one of the hunters square in the
face, the hunters turned and tried to
shoot him. Fortunately, he escaped
unscathed. Dylan wanted to eradicate
the Monke hunters but he didn’t know
how to so he set on a quest to figure out
how to destroy the Monke hunters.
Chapter 2
First, he tried learning how to kill the
hunters without avail. Then, he tried
removing the hunters’ firearms. He was
thinking of ideas when he realized the
answer: he should tell the humans to
stop hunting Monkes and start hunting
wild bulls or other animals instead. The
only problem was that he couldn’t
contact the humans without getting shot
nor could he even speak English let alone
advising the humans to stop hunting
Monkes. “I must turn into a human”
Dylan thought. But how would Dylan turn
into a human? He searched many
methods without any luck so he decided
to swing around the jungle to think.
Chapter 3
Suddenly, he stumbles upon a large,
industrial-looking building. Curious, Dylan
decided to investigate but the door to the
building was locked. He looked around the
building and found a door high up on the building
so he climbed up to the door and opened it. The
place was dark and dinghy. He ventured further
into the building discovering many intersections
but he fortunately didn’t see any people. He
eventually found a locked door and he used his
Monke chonk to ram into the door and it fell off
the hinges. Inside was a weird chamber with a
fluorescent green liquid inside with a cat floating
inside. The chamber was labeled “Trans-Species
Converter.” Fortunately, Dylan could read English
and understood. A smaller label beside it said
“Dog → Cat.” Dylan thought “This is it! I could
turn into a human and advise them to stop
hunting Monkes!” Suddenly, Dylan heard
footsteps.
Chapter 4
Suddenly, Dylan heard footsteps. Dylan had to hide
so he hid behind the chamber. The person who came
in had a name badge saying “Junior Lab Assistant Mr.
T. Gamble.” He called out “The transformation is
complete!” A bunch of people in lab clothes rushed
in, opened the chamber and put on lab clothes and
dived in to take the cat out. They wiped the cat down
and conducted various tests relating to the behaviour
of the cat. One of the lab assistants, apparently the
head said “Next test will be removing the creature
before the transformation is complete.” The leaders
name was Léon Pierre as indicated by the nametag.
“What are you waiting for?! Put something in!” “Ok
sir,” said one of the lab assistants. He took off and
returned with a small rodent that Dylan couldn’t
recognize. Then, he put it in the chamber. “Leave it in
for 1 week,” said Léon. All the people in lab coats
exited the room. Dylan observed the animal and it
was already starting to change but in small ways.
When he looked at the nameplate, he saw Rakali →
Capybara.
Chapter 5
He ran out of the room and ran for the way he
came in. Dylan the Monke was feeling both
excited and terrified. He had just witnessed
something incredible: the transformation of a
creature from one species to another. The
Trans-Species Converter in front of him was
clearly a groundbreaking scientific invention,
and it could be the key to his plan. But there
was no time to lose. The people in lab coats
might return at any moment, and Dylan didn’t
want to risk getting caught. As he scrambled
through the dark corridors of the building, his
mind raced. Turning into a human... this could
actually work. If I can get into that chamber, I
can become a human, speak their language,
and finally convince them to stop hunting
Monkes. I’ll save my species! He made his
way to the door, slipped down into the jungle
and continued with the next stage of his plan.
Chapter 6
Dylan returned to the building several times,
spying from the treetops and watching the
humans. He learned their routines: when they
entered the lab, when they left for meals, and
when the building was most likely to be empty.
One night, he decided to make his move. He
entered the building his regular way and made
his way to the chamber. The place was as
deserted as he expected and the chamber was
empty except for the swirling green liquid. He
climbed up onto the chamber and carefully
stepped in. The liquid was surprisingly viscous
making it hard to move. Then, he started to
change. His skin felt like it was boiling off and
his bones felt like they were being rearranged.
He knew that he would have to stay in for a
month and had no idea how he would be able
to endure that for that long. Just as he was
forming those thoughts, the world went black.
Chapter 7
Outside the chamber, the lab assistants came in and saw him
inside. Luckily, they thought that it was another experiment so
they didn’t mind. When the lead assistant came in, they told
him that it was a new experiment. After one month, he was
finished transforming and soon after, he woke up. Dylan had
done it. He was human now. But as he took his first steps,
something was off. He could barely balance on his two feet,
and his new body felt clumsy. It was going to take time to
adjust to being human. He had no idea how to speak the
human language fluently, and his body felt awkward and
foreign. But Dylan wasn’t deterred. This was the first step
toward saving his species. He slowly made his way outside
and spent the next few days adjusting to his human body,
learning how to walk, how to speak and\how to use his hands.
One day, he ventured deeper into the jungle, toward the
human settlements. He had to learn how to blend in. He knew
that he couldn’t just show up and start talking about Monkes.
He had to learn the language and culture of humans: how they
thought, how they acted, and most importantly, how they
communicated. He managed to find a relatively small village
and spent weeks observing the humans to learn more about
them. Then, he arrived into the village posing as a lost traveler
and joined their society, helping and speaking with them. One
day, he decided to make his move.
Chapter 8
At their biweekly evening meeting around a campfire and
asked “Excuse me, can I tell you all something?” The humans
around the campfire stared at Dylan, their eyes wide with
confusion. One of them, a tall man with scruffy brown hair,
squinted at him. “What do you want, stranger?” he asked, his
voice cautious. Dylan felt a flutter of nerves, but he steadied
himself. I have to do this. I have to convince them. He cleared
his throat and spoke again, this time a little more confidently.
“I need to talk to you about the Monkes. You’re hunting them,
and it’s wrong. They’re not just animals, they’re people
too.”The humans exchanged confused glances. A woman,
who looked to be in her mid-thirties, tilted her head. “What do
you mean ‘they’re people too’? That’s not possible.”Dylan
took a deep breath. His new human form still felt foreign, but
his Monke instincts remained sharp. He had to make them
understand, somehow. “I’m not just some regular human. I
used to be a Monke. A Monke just like them. I turned myself
into a human so I could talk to you. To ask you to stop hunting
us.”There was a long, stunned silence. The humans
exchanged uneasy glances. Dylan could see they were trying
to process what he had said. Finally, the man with the scruffy
hair spoke again. “You turned yourself into a human?” He
laughed nervously. “That’s a new one. I mean, I’ve heard
some crazy stories, but this takes the cake.”Dylan wasn’t
deterred. “I swear, it’s the truth!
There’s a machine: a machine that can change a creature’s
species. I used it to turn into a human. I had to do it. You have
to stop hunting Monkes. The world is dying, and you’re
hunting the last of us.”The woman sat back, her expression
softening. “You’re asking us to stop hunting Monkes. But
why? Why would you care? We’re trying to survive, just like
everyone else. The food is gone. The world’s a mess.”Dylan’s
heart sank. They don’t understand. They think they’re just
surviving. They don’t see that they’re killing us off for nothing.
But he couldn’t give up. He had to make them see. “I know
the world is broken. But there are other animals to hunt. Stop
hunting Monkes. Hunt bulls, or boars anything else. You don’t
need to kill us.”The man with the scruffy hair crossed his
arms. “Look, kid, we’re just doing what we have to do. We’re
trying to survive the same way everyone else is. People are
starving out here. It’s not like we have a choice.” He looked at
Dylan closely. “But if what you say is true if you were a Monke
then why’d you change? Why’d you come here?”Dylan’s eyes
filled with determination. “Because I need your help. I don’t
want to fight you. I don’t want to hurt anyone. But you have to
stop hunting my kind. If we don’t, we’ll be wiped out. And
we’re not just animals We’re more than that. We have families,
we have lives, we have hopes.”The woman stood up, pacing
slowly. “But we need food and we’re running out of
everything. You’re telling me there’s a way to stop the hunters,
but how? If we don’t hunt Monkes, what will we eat? The
animals we’re used to hunting are all gone. The forests are
destroyed.
”Dylan paused, thinking hard. There had to be a way. Then it
hit him: the Trans-Species Converter. If it could turn animals
into different species, what if it could create new sources of
food? What if it could turn plants into more edible or nutritious
crops, or even animals into something else?“I know it’s not
easy,” Dylan said, his voice firm. “But there’s a way. The
machine it can change species. I don’t just want to be human,
I want to help you. What if we could use the machine to create
food? To make new animals, or better plants, something that
can help everyone survive without killing us Monkes?”The
man looked at him, eyebrows furrowed. “Are you saying... you
could make food with that machine?” “Yes,” Dylan said, his
voice steady. “I don’t know all the details yet, but I’ll figure it
out. I can show you. I can teach you how to use it.”For a
moment, the group of humans remained silent, absorbing
what Dylan had said. They exchanged glances, the weight of
the situation settling in. The woman spoke first. “If this is true
if you can help us find a way to survive without hunting
Monkes then maybe you’re right. Maybe there is a way
forward.”The man with the scruffy hair nodded slowly. “Alright,
kid. We’ll give you a chance. But this better not be some wild
story. We’re desperate, and we don’t have time for
games.”Dylan’s heart lifted. They’re listening, they're actually
listening. “Thank you,” he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
“I promise you, I’ll help. I’ll do whatever it takes.”With their
agreement, Dylan and the humans set off on a new journey.
Chapter 9
Dylan led them back to the abandoned lab where he had
first found the Trans-Species Converter. Along the way, he
kept thinking about the future. The humans might have
been skeptical, but they were willing to give him a chance.
And with that chance, he had an opportunity to change the
world. Dylan led the humans to the building but the front
door was locked and without being a Monke, he couldn’t
scale the wall to open the upper door. He yelled to the
crowd “WHICH ONE OF YOU CAN PICK A LOCK.” Several
people raised their hands and he chose the closest one.
After a few seconds, the door swung open and they
entered. Dylan led the way and discovered that there were
6 floors and the machine was on the top one. It was on the
top floor and he opened the door. Fortunately, there was
nothing in the chamber. He took a small animal and put it
in the chamber. They left and checked in a couple of days
later and it had completely transformed into a small rat.
Dylan noted that it takes a shorter amount of time to
transform a smaller animal. He tried with a plant into wheat
grain and it worked. The villagers were impressed and
started to believe him. Eventually, they spread the news
and the global news took notice of the situation and sent
people to retrieve the device and after a few years, Monke
hunting was officially banned
