To Whom It May Concern:

We are writing to confirm that Amani is a human rights activist for the LGBTQ community in
Sud-Kivu, and he will be attending the National LGBTQ Task Force meeting in Louisiana, New
Orleans, January 17–20, 2024. Mr. Amani will represent the LGBTQ community in Sud-Kivu at
the 36th Conference. It is a privilege to be presented by him. During the conference, Mr. Amani
will share our experience of being LGBTQ in Sud-Kivu because people from the Congo believe
that homosexuality is witchcraft. For that reason, we are facing prejudice and persecution in Sud-
Kivu. The LGBTQ community in Sud-Kivu will cover all of his travel costs.

We therefore humbly request that you issue our president a visa so that he may attend the
meeting. You will show that you support the LGBTQ community in Sud-Kivu by granting him a
visa.
