Music
Theater is a collaborative art form. It is not put up by the director, actor, or playwright alone.
Helen Keller once said, "Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much."
Producers - are the ones who raise money to fund a show. They also source or assemble the team who
will make the show.
Directors - are the production leaders, interpreting and executing every artistic component and
communicating their artistic vision to the team.
Notable Filipino directors: Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero, Hermogenes Ilagan, Severino Reyes, Ronaldo Tinio
Actors/Performers - also called performer or thespian, is a person who portrays a character in a
performance.
Playwrights – are responsible for the script.
Choreographer - serve as movement coaches throughout the show, instructing actors on how to
perform the choreography.
Stage Managers - are the representatives of the director during shows, ensuring that everything runs
smoothly.
Light Designer - who collaborate with the director in establishing the show's lighting design, are
responsible for all of these.
Stage Designer - create a set that creates the appropriate mood and atmosphere and effectively sets the
tone of the production.
Sound Designer - make plans and decide on the sound effects, ambient music, or soundscapes that are
used during the show.
Musical Designer - are responsible for the cast's vocal performance and accompanying orchestra or
band's instrumental performance.
Hair and Make-up artist - work with the director in coming up with makeup and hair design.
Props Coordinators - collaborate with the director and set designer in deciding what items must appear
on stage, as well as what props will be used by the actors.
Carpenters - are responsible for realizing the design made by the set designer.
House Managers - are tasked to make sure that the house is running flawlessly during the show run.
Ushers - are responsible for controlling audience traffic prior to, during, and after the show.
Publicist - are the ones who plan and execute media strategies that will hopefully bring interest and
excite the public on the upcoming production.

Theater Arts - is an arts form that brings together all other art forms.
Philippines – this country is known for having well talented actors and actresses.
The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) - is a renowned theater company based in the
Philippines that has made significant contributions to the development and promotion of Philippine
theater for over five decades. Was establish in the year 1967, the founder of this theater is Cecile
Guidote-Alvarez. PETA used to perform in Fort Santiago, Intramuros Manila. CARADIVAS, HARING
LEAR, PAMANA.
Triumphant People’s Evangelistic Theater Society (TRUMPETS) – was incorporated in the year 1991.
Asia’s first professional gospel theater group in the late 1980’s. Gospel stories are transformed into fun
and funky presentation. THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE, NOAH, THE BLUEBIRD OF
HAPPINESS.
Repertory Philippines - Introduced to the Philippines by a theater director, ZENAIDA AMADOR in 1967.
Lea Salonga – multi awarded theater actress and singer. Lea took the lead role of the musical play
production, “Annie.” LITTLE WOMEN, ALICE IN WORDERLAND.
Tanghalang Pilipino – organized in 1987, is the leading exponent of Philippine Theater and the resident

Physical Education
Line Dance is a form of choreographed dance where performers are arranged in a linear position. In a
line dance, dancers are not in physical contact with one another. It may be performed in two or more
lines wherein dancers face one another. Dancers form a circle, and they may hold one another’s hand to
keep the circle intact.
A line dance is a series of repeating sequence of steps, which is called a wall.
Folk dancing could be one of the roots of line dancing, but keep in mind that line dancing is not a form
of folk dancing.
History of LINE DANCE:
The first known line dance instructions were written in a book of dance sheets in 1650 for English
Country Dancing.
Line dancing appears to have originated in Europe and arrived to the United States with the settlers
who immigrated to America.
