Drug Name Route Dosage Form Concentration


Clonidine Oral Suspension 20 mcg/mL

Formula Qty: 300mL Shelf Life: 28 days

Equipment needed:
Mortar and pestle, stirring rod, graduate

Auxiliary labeling/Storage: Shake Well; Refrigerate

Directions:
1. Crush clonidine tablets and triturate to a fine powder in the mortar.
2. Add purified water and mix to form a paste.
3. Slowly add ½ the simple syrup to the mortar and mix well.
4. Transfer to graduated cylinder.
5. Rinse mortar with small amount of simple syrup and add to graduated cylinder. Stir.
6. QS with simple syrup to final volume. Stir well.

Final Product Description: Semi-opaque, orange suspension. No discernible smell.
