Circuit breaker installation, tested connections between

vertical S2000 busbar system and ACB/MCCB breakers.

This manual is a supplement to our Projecting Manual, which includes all necessary
information about how to project a CUBIC electrical switchboard based on modules, and
complying with the international standards of the IEC 61439 series.
The manual shows brand specific installation items for breakers in the following brands: ABB,
Schneider Electric, Siemens and Terasaki.
The range is from 800A to 6300A breakers.
The manual is divided into the four brands, breaker types, ranges, versions, placements etc.
and shows all type numbers ready for ordering.
On each page there are links to drawings / installation guides.

Guidelines for using the manual:

• ACB/MCCB sections tested by CUBIC-Modulsystem A/S *)
• The manual is divided in sections by brand: ABB, Schneider Electric, Siemens and Terasaki. *)
• The manual consists of component specific installation parts such as ACB connection, bearer and door.
• Doors and covers for ACB’s are created with cut-out for the standard door-frame and always in 3M height.
• Doors are hinged at the left side.
• Bearers placed horizontal for mounting of the ACB’s are made with pre-punched holes for easy mounting of the ACB.
• Use brackets type 0308-0000 for mounting bearers in the depth on HS.
• Use brackets type 0309-0000 for mounting bearers in the depth on SP.
• For each brand, range and size you will see a link to a drawing, which shows all the details for installing of the breakers and the associated
items.
• For guidance on the general projecting and installation, please see CUBIC Instruction- and Projecting Manual.

*) CUBIC have tested more brands and components than included in this manual, for further information, please contact CUBIC.

In this CBI manual there are links to datasheets where CUBIC has performed the verification tests. If you use such a tested unit, there are no
additional verification requirements. The performance of the sections / units are are described datasheet.
For further information about functional units above 630A and verification in general, see the Projecting Manual [PM] chapter 13 and chapter 26.

Please pay attention to the following:

• The load value [Inc] for the various functional units is verified at a ambient temperature outside the section of 35oC.

• Inc is the rated current of the functional unit. The Inc value in the datasheets are given for the tested unit with the power loss of the component.
With other comparable components, doing verification in PM chapter 26, you might end up with another rated current of the circuit.

• For information about the various degrees of protection [IP], see PM chapter 2

• The Icw value in the datasheets is given at 1 sec.

• The neutral is short-circuit tested at 60% of the 3 phase value.

• The rated conditional short-circuit current [Icc] for the ASSEMBLY has to be higher than the prospective short-circuit current [Icp] at the
installation point, and can never be higher that the short-circuit level of the component.

Calculation of busbar length (when busbar holder placed in S):

Length of busbar from IM Chapter 8 + Length from CBI - 17 mm = Busbar length

Calculation of busbar length (when busbar holder placed in S1, S2 or S3):

Length of busbar from IM Chapter 8 - (S1, S2 or S3) + Length from CBI - 17 mm = Busbar length

Example calculations
Using 4M mid/mid from IM chapter 8 and ABB E4.2 2500A from CBI:
802 mm + 140 mm - 17 mm = 925 mm

Using 4M mid/mid from IM chapter 8 and ABB E4.2 4000A from CBI:
802 mm - 64 mm + 154 mm - 17 mm = 875 mm

reference to type of breaker and short circuit level.
If support is required the underneath items can be used.

Dividing plates in polycarbonate:
Note minimum clearance distances in air according to IEC Mounting plate for Mounting plate for

If the clearance distance is too short, the underneath dividing
plates in polycarbonate can be used between the connections.
The connections are tested by CUBIC-Modulsystem A/S with
the dividing plates where required.
