Your body is not
separate from the
universe; it is a portal
to it. In your pleasure,
find your purpose.

Adrienne Maree Brown

What Is Sex Magic
Sex Magic is the channeling of sexual energy
through ritual. Sexual energy is a potent force
with the capacity to transform our experience of
reality.

Sex Magic is Immersive. Expansive. Penetrating.

Ecstatic. Succulent. Euphoric. Seductive. Erotic.
Enticing. Pleasurable. Intoxicating. Powerful. It
invokes the energy of Creation!

It often results in greater self love and

acceptance, alongside a more inclusive way of
relating to others. When we experience passion
and awe, we feel more connected not only to
ourselves, but to everyone and everything. From
this place, anything is possible.

That’s the magic.

Sex magic has been practiced for centuries
across many cultures. We can look to Ancient
Egypt as an example of a culture that truly
valued sex. Archeologists have discovered erotic
art, poetry, hieroglyphics, myths, aphrodisiacs
and even love spells.

So, it appears that sexuality was embedded in

their daily lives. It was also integral to their
spirituality, strengthening the etheric body,
connecting to the divine, and ensuring a
benevolent afterlife.

What it would be like to create more sex

positivity and MAGIC here and now…where we
are supported in healing sexual wounds…we
don’t prey upon or judge others…we remember
and re-sacralize our bodies, passions and
desires…Can you imagine it?

Embrace sex as ritual and channel magic

through your body to:

Manifest dreams
Come more alive
Experience joy and pleasure
Love and accept yourself
Disclaimer
Sex is a sensitive and taboo topic. A lot of
people have trauma around sex and don’t see it
as a gorgeous portal to expansion. You may feel
uncomfortable as you begin to become present
to the power of sex, as well as the shame,
trauma, and conditioning you’ve experienced
around it.

If this is true for you, enter in slowly. When

triggers show up, honor the stops and seek
support. What we often lack the most when it
comes to sex is information, and access to other
people who are also curious about it (which
helps normalize most everything). There are sex
therapists and coaches, sexological
bodyworkers, books, courses and retreats
dedicated to healing sexual trauma.

We all enter into these sexual energies in unique

ways. We have embodied differing levels of
arousal, desire and inhibition - all of which can
be worked with consciously. The invitation is to
find your own way in…to heal, explore, play,
create and make love.
The Great Rite
Sex magic has been practice in the west since the
early 19th century. The Great Rite is a Wiccan ritual
originating in the mythic Hieros Gamos. Traditionally, a
man and woman as priest and priestess embody the
god and goddess, and either symbolically (with
chalice and blade) or physically come together in
sacred union to re-enact divine creation.

This ritual draws upon the joining of the polarities of

feminine/masculine to call on spiritual intervention.
Practitioners experience a mythical re-sacralizing of
the earth and body.

The invitation for each of us is to expand our concepts

of sex, to reclaim its power, and to have mystical
experiences that assist our growth, transformation
and awakening. Bring in sex-specific traumas,
shames or discomforts and invite healing into your
body, heart, mind, and spirit. Call in divine intervention
to attract your desires. Feel into community and
global healing possibilities.

You can perform your rituals solo, partnered or within

a group, always with consent. The opportunities are
endless.
The Great Rite Invocation

Take 3 deep breaths and repeat this

invocation with all the love in your heart

Altar of mysteries manifold, the sacred

circle’s secret point

Thus do I sign thee as old, with kisses of my

lips anoint

Open for me the secret way, the pathway

of intelligence

Beyond the gates of night and day, beyond

the bounds of time and sense

Beyond the mysteries aright, the five true

points of fellowship

Here where the Lance and Grail unite

And feet, and knees, and breast, and lip

The Power of
Creation
When we practice magic, we weave in with the
powers of the natural world, honoring the
elemental building blocks of creation in this
realm: air, fire, water, earth, ether.

Tending the elements of your sexual nature and

feeling your body as a conduit of magic helps
you align with the essence of creation. You are
not separate. You are an active participant and
co-creator. Your body is a vessel of magic
through with the elements move.

Develop intimacy with each of the elements as

they manifest in nature and your body. Revel in
your physical senses. The more you engage with
the elements, the more they will engage with
you. It’s a relationship fed by mutual longing and
understanding
Practice:
get intimate with the elementals
Get intimate with each of the five elements. Explore
them through your body, in nature and with another.
Explore how you find pleasure through these building
blocks of creation and magic. Devote a full day (or
week) to each one.

AIR

your mental body, spoken word, breath and sense of

smell and hearing.

Place your hands over your heart and belly. Slow

your breathing and feel your body’s response to
each breath. Where do you feel connected?
Experiment with sound. Listening and making
sounds. Which tones and rhythms do you most
resonate with?
Step outside. Feel the air around you. Breathe in
the essence of the place.
With another: Sit across from each other and
breathe together, naturally allowing your breath
rhythms to sync up. Smell them and let them get
to know your smells. Read erotica to each other.
Practice:
get intimate with the elementals

FIRE

your nervous system, passion, pattern recognition

(relationship), heart beat and sense of sight.

Place your hands over your heart and find the

rhythm. Match your heartbeat with your hands.
Look around you. Let your eyes settle on a color,
shape or pattern that brings you pleasure. Receive
it in and let it light up an inner smile.
Practice widening your vision as you go for a walk.
Soften your gaze and take in the colors, textures
and patterns of nature.
With another: Look into each other’s eyes without
words. Feel your nervous system and theirs, your
heart and theirs. Look at each other naked. Speak
to what you see and love in them.
Practice:
get intimate with the elementals

WATER

your emotional body, blood, tears, sweat, saliva, sexual

juices, and sense of taste.

Tune into the flow of water in your body. Notice

how the fluids flow under your skin and from your
body to the surface…especially your tears, sweat,
saliva and sexual juices as your physical and
emotional bodies move.
When you eat or drink, slow down. Linger on the
tastes. Where do different tastes land on your
tongue? How does your body respond to the salty,
sweet, sour, bitter, umami?
Turn your attention to the natural world. Linger on
the beauty. How do your emotions respond? How
are you moved?
With another: Kiss, lick, nibble, taste them. And let
them do the same for you.
Practice:
get intimate with the elementals

EARTH

your physical body, skin, bone, sinew and sense of

touch.

Place your hands on your body. Feel yourself

touching and being touched. Where do you like to
be touched? How do you like to be touched?
Tune in to the sensations of your body as you
move through your day. What kinds of movement
do you actually really love? In your muscles and in
your joints. Do you like more staccato or flowing or
lyrical rhythms? Do you like the pounding of feet
on pavement or the rolling full body on the
ground? Or what. Give yourself permission to be
curious and experiment with different ways of
moving.
Step outside and touch things. Feel the “skin” of
other human and non-human beings. You’ll be
surprised at how you light up with the joy of how
much you can sense through your hands.
With another: Touch each other in imaginative and
playful ways. Feathers, crystals, warm oils, ice, fruit,
chocolate, etc. etc. etc.
Practice:
get intimate with the elementals

ETHER

your spirit, the intangible, highest, deepest essence of

life in and around you and sense of BEing.

This is where it all comes together. It is deep and

expansive. Your experience of ether is in and around
and through your experiences with every other
element. How do the elements individually and
collectively evoke pleasure for you?

Also, be open to any ways that you turn away from

them (in body and nature). Let them teach you about
sex magic, generative magic, creative magic, love
magic. It’s all here within and around you, all the time.
The Power of
Being Naked
There is a great power in being naked, in
stripping ourselves of shame, beliefs, conditions,
proprieties, expectations. It is the power of
vulnerability - leaning into uncertainty, risk and
emotional exposure - that allows us to see and
be seen as we are.

When you craft sex magic, you strip down and

get naked, physically and metaphorically…just
pure, raw truth. You open to the powers of the
elements, to the forces of creation. You let
yourself be moved and touched by life, itself.

Spend some time being naked. Inside. Outside.

Alone. With Others. Cook naked. Sleep naked.
Work (from home) naked. Stand under the
moon naked.
The Power of
Self Pleasure
Sex Magic can begin to shift sex negative
cultural indoctrinations to sex positive freedom.
A huge part of this is taking back the power of
self pleasure. In that, we discharge the imprint of
shame and activate the potential of eros.

As the shame and trauma begin to lose their

charge, you get to love what you love—fully,
uninhibited, no holds back. And ultimately, you
get to know and love yourself, accepting
yourself for who you are and what brings you
pleasure and joy.

What arouses you? How do you like to be

touched? What makes you makes you feel
sexy? What makes you want sex? Are you more
visual? auditory? kinesthetic?
Practice:
pleasure yourself

Set an intention for more eros in your life. Be your own

lover. Make space in your heart to welcome your
whole self.

Get in the mood by honoring what turns you on. Bring

in the memory of a kiss, an embrace, a caress…let
your body remember and build on that memory,
amplify it with touch, sound, movement.

As the fire builds, undulate your spine and draw the

energy upwards, lighting up all your cells. Suspend
your breath for a moment. With your whole self fully in
the pleasure, release! Enjoy being brilliantly,
ecstatically embodied.

Then melt into ease and trust. Bathe in the magic,

letting it soothe any parts that are uneasy or
untrusting.

It’s okay to feel a lot. It’s okay to want sex. It’s okay to
desire more. It’s okay to be outside the box. It’s okay to
explore and play. It’s okay to make magic. It’s okay to
love yourself, deeply, intimately, adoringly. More than
okay.
The Power of
Climax
Sex magic moves along the currents of desire,
arousal, orgasm, and resolution.

When with another, your two currents flow

together, twisting and spiraling, expanding and
contracting as they rise to your shared peak.
And when alone, you are both the giver and
receiver. You bring yourself into the center of
desire, exploding both inward and outward in a
burst of brilliant magic.

This magic buzzes with life force energy. At every

moment, your body is shimmering and pulsing
with this energy, building and releasing and
beginning again. The more you can surrender to
the arousing and pleasurable thrills and thrums
of being a sensual being, the more you’ll
experience magic both in your body and around
you.
Practice:
connect with your sensual essence

Connecting with your sensual essence is a way to

ground into your lower chakras (first, second and
third). The lower chakras support the energetics of
being here in this body, on this Earth, at this time.

With a regular daily ritual practice, you will be in

greater touch with your body, knowing ever more
clearly what it feels like to be a full YES or NO.

Close your eyes and place your hands over your

heart. Slow the breath down. Don’t hurry or rush to the
next step.

Slide your hands down to your lower belly, making a

downward pointing triangle with your index/middle
fingers making the point of the triangle and your
thumbs touching at or slightly below your navel. Be
here with the breath, movement and energy under
your hands.

If it feels right, place one hand lower to hold your

genitals, tenderly and fully. Bring the other hand to
your heart. As much as possible, place your mental
commentary to the side. Be with the sensations and
emotions. Cultivate presence here with whatever
arises.
With words of power and
intention clear

We cast a circle, to hold us

dear

Invoking the elements, the

guardians of the land

We purify our space, and

make our stand
A Sex Magic
Ritual
A beautiful way to hold the sacred for Sex Magic is to
cast a circle and raise a cone of power. The cone of
power is used in magic to raise energy and amplify
intentions. The cone of power moves in a clockwise
spiral, reaching a point (climax, so to speak) above
the circle.

Feel your feet on the ground, your spine long and your
crown lifting to the sky.

Begin in the east and move to each of the cardinal

directions, invoking the elementals, guides and allies,
recalling your unique and intimate way of being with
each: East/Air, South/Fire, West/Water, North/Earth,
Center/Ether.

Offer words of gratitude and welcome. You may wish

to also burn incense/dried herbs, light candles,
pour/drink water, and sprinkle salt for each of the
elements. You can also set a crystal grid if that’s part
of your practice.
Walk in a circle or spin or dance sunwise with your
arms outstretched. Feel (or imagine) a vortex of
energy churning around you, widest on the ground
and connecting to a point above your head. In this
way, raise a cone of power to both magnify and
attract your intentions.

With words of power and intention clear

We cast a circle, to hold us dear
Invoking the elements, the guardians of the land
We purify our space, and make our stand

When you feel ready, make love (to yourself, another,

others) within this spiraling vortex of energy. Use oil to
anoint your bodies as vessels of love and conduits of
power.

Explore and be present to whatever arises within this

ritual context, even interruptions (interference). The
beauty of ritual is that oftentimes things don’t go
“perfectly” and these blips are messages for you to
pay attention to and bookmark for further
contemplation and/or ritual.
If you reach orgasm, send that energy to the very top
of the cone of power as a beacon of light.

If you don’t reach orgasm, no problem, you have

gathered up gorgeous energy that will continue to
grow and nurture you and your intentions.

When complete, pause in stillness with palms turned

upwards or resting over the heart. Know that you have
generated and seeded powerful magic with great
alchemical potential.

After some time has passed, close the circle by

thanking and releasing each of the elementals in the
cardinal directions.

Thank yourself and any partner(s) who participated

with you.

Thank the Universe for the gift of sexuality and its

myriad of expressions that you can tap into, feel in
your body and channel.
May your POWER and MAGIC
always be in the service of
LOVE and the highest and
greatest good for all, with
harm to none.

And so it is

Blessed Be!
