Scripture: Romans 8:31-39 God’s Everlasting Love Romans 8:31
Summary: A message of hope about God's unshakable love that we get in our
walk with the Lord. It never changes. It is always there.
God's Unshakable Love. Romans 8:31-
Before you sit down say, “Good Morning” to someone you don’t know.
Examples of unshakable in a Sentence
we need the kind of leader who will be unshakable in a national crisis
Today's message is on Romans 8:31-39: God’s Unshakeable Love
When I was new in Christ, I questioned this.
Was I good enough for a new life in Him?
Have you ever thought that?
Romans 8:31-39 is one of the most encouraging passages in the entire Bible. It
speaks directable assurance we can hold onto, no matter what circumstances we
face. Let’s explore this text together, breaking down its profound truths.
4 UNSHAKABLE LOVE
1. God Is for Us (Romans 8:31)
Paul begins with a rhetorical question: *“What, then, shall we say in response to
these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Do you believe that?
This verse draws our attention to the ultimate assurance that God, the Creator of
the universe, is on our side. To be "for" someone means to be their advocate,
protector, and provider. Imagine the weight of this truth: the One who has all
power is standing with us and fighting for us. Whatever may come—whether it's
people, situations, or even spiritual forces—nothing can ultimately prevail against
us because God is greater than all.
When you feel overwhelmed or like the world is against you, remind yourself that
God is on your side. The trials may be real, but His support is eternal.
2. God’s Sacrifice Is the Guarantee (Romans 8:32)
“He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all—how will He not
also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?”
The greatest proof of God's love is His sacrifice on the cross. If God was willing to
give up His own Son for us, how could we doubt His love or willingness to meet
our needs? The cross is the ultimate demonstration that God is willing to go to any
length to save us.
John 3:16
hanggan.
If you ever doubt God's care for you, look to the cross. If He gave His Son for your
salvation, He will certainly provide for your needs.
3. No Charge Can Stand Against Us (Romans 8:33-34)
“Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who
justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—
more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also
interceding for us.”
As believers, we often feel the weight of accusations—whether from others, from
the enemy, or even from ourselves. But here, Paul reminds us that no charge or
accusation can stand because it is God who has justified us. Our sins have been
forgiven, and no one can reverse God’s declaration.
Even more comforting is the fact that Jesus Himself is at the right hand of God,
interceding on our behalf. Jesus, who understands our weaknesses, is praying for
us and defending us before the Father.
ISAIAH 50:8,9
Whenever guilt, shame, or accusations threaten to bring you down, remember
that Jesus is your advocate, and His righteousness has already covered you.
4. Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love (Romans 8:35-39)
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or
persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?... No, in all these things
we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
1 COR.15:57
Paul lists several severe trials—trouble, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger,
and even death itself. These are things that believers in his time and even now
may face. But Paul’s conclusion is clear: not a single one of these things can
separate us from the love of Christ.
2 COR. 2:14
bawa't dako.
He continues in verses 38-39, declaring that not death, life, angels, demons,
present or future events, powers, heights, depths, or anything else in creation can
remove us from God's love. This is the ultimate victory we have in Christ: God’s
love is unbreakable, unmovable, and eternal.
EFE.6:12
Romans 8:38-39, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers,
nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor
anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in
Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Nothing can separate us from the love God has for us.
How amazing to know these words can bring us peace and be a powerful
reminder that we can overcome. This deserves repeating. Nothing – not our
fears, not our insecurities, not the actions of others, not our families, not our
failures, not our “unworthiness,” not even death – can truly separate us from
the love of God. This means we are never without hope. Our situation is never
too bad, too far gone, too bleak, too ugly, or too messy for God and His amazing
grace.
The enemy and past/present human pain can tempt us to keep our hearts
walled off, closed up, or shut down in efforts to protect ourselves. Satan and all
evil are constantly speaking lies to us all, so we need to be on guard and
surround ourselves with truth.
Don’t believe the lies that you aren’t worthy, that this type of love isn’t real, or
that God doesn’t care about your situation. God calls us out of this fear, away
from these lies, and into faith. It’s only in receiving God’s gifts of love and grace
(and this is a repeated process) that true and lasting healing, unshakeable love,
and transformation enters into our life.
we can be sure that God’s love is always there. The most wonderful truth we can
know is that God’s love is constant…yesterday, today, and forever!
Being Unstoppable means holding fast to the truth that God’s love is constant
and always present.
Application to our lives.
Whatever hardship you’re going through, trust that God’s love surrounds you. You
may feel lost, but His love remains constant. You are more than a conqueror
because His love gives you the strength to endure and overcome.
Conclusion:
Romans 8:31-39 stands as a towering reminder of the security believers have in
Christ. We are deeply loved by God, protected by His power, and assured of our
victory through Jesus. No force, no person, no trial, and no spiritual power can
ever separate us from His love.
