Bible Quiz Competition 2024

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like
eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

On a chilly winter morning, the 1st of December, our spirited squad—Neron, Ethan,
Andrea, Nixon Uncle, Charlene Aunty, and I, joined by our lively supporters, headed to
Don Bosco, Nerul. Within 20 minutes, we arrived, buzzing with excitement. The day
began with a beautiful mass in the auditorium, where the sermon encouraged us to hold
onto hope, a message that carried us through the day.

After the mass, refreshments were served, and the air grew electric as the quiz drew
near. Our quizmaster, Mr. Frazer Martin, kicked things off with a demo on the quiz app,
which featured multiple-choice questions, number inputs, and more. The laughs began
early when, mistaking the options, we selected “Kapil Sharma” instead of “Kapil Dev” as
the 1983 cricket captain!

The quiz launched with an easy first round, followed by the “Go Wide” round, allowing
two answer attempts. The third, ominously called "Evil Mode," introduced negative
marking, testing our nerves. After each round, scores were displayed, and we
consistently placed 4th, until the multitap round. Here, we strategically selected multiple
answers, vaulting us to a thrilling 3rd place finish!

Between rounds, icebreaker games like bingo, emoji races, and turtle races lightened
the mood. Our cheering squad’s enthusiasm made our emoji and turtle “race” faster,
turning the auditorium into a lively carnival.

The event was not just fun but deeply enriching. We had read the Bible extensively,
focusing on the Synoptic Gospels, Matthew, Mark, and Luke. To my surprise, I learned
they were collectively called the Synoptic Gospels, a detail I hadn’t known before. We
also explored the Dei Verbum, gaining deeper insights into Scripture.

Receiving the 3rd place trophy felt surreal, a testament to perseverance and prayer.
This one-of-a-kind experience combined learning, laughter, and teamwork, leaving us
with priceless memories and a renewed connection to our faith.
