objections against respondent no. 3 college, that in the previous years, the
college had allotted excess seats to Christian minority students, Mr.
Mariarputham, learned Senior counsel for respondent no. 3/college, at 04:00
PM, states that it will be unfair to them in case they are not granted an
opportunity to file reply to the counter-affidavit filed by respondent
no.1/Delhi University. Sh. Rupal, on the other hand, states that this counter-
affidavit was served upon respondent no. 3 college yesterday evening at
about 5:00 PM and they had sufficient time to go through the same and
considering the urgency in the matter could have sought instructions
regarding the same. Learned Senior Counsel Mr. Mariarputham states that
he still does not have instructions and will need further time to address
additional arguments and file a reply to the counter-affidavit filed by the
respondent-Delhi University regarding the previous seat matrix etc. argued
by the learned counsel for Delhi University.
3. In these circumstances, respondent no. 3 is given liberty to place on
record its reply to the counter-affidavit filed by respondent no. 1 by
tomorrow. However, it is clarified that arguments on behalf of respondent
no. 3 will now be confined to only those issues, as mentioned above, since
learned senior counsels appearing on behalf of respondent no. 3 have
already addressed detailed arguments.
4. List on 05.09.2024 at 12:00 Noon.
5. The order be uploaded on the website forthwith.
