How to Pack a Suitcase:
Packing a suitcase correctly is a
juggling act between desire and
 necessity, of maximizing space
 and minimizing creases. Here
are a few tips and tricks to
packing for the two weeks spent
 at home over Christmas break
or the trip to Cancun over
          spring break.
1. Place heavy, bulky items on the
bottom, then shirts and such on
   top.
2. Mix and match before packing
so that most of your clothes can
   be worn in combination.
3. If you travel with more than one
pair of shoes, wear the heaviest
to cut down on weight. Pack
shoes in a plastic bag to avoid
   odors and dirtying your clothes.
4. Pack lots of lightweight layers
and you will be prepared for hot
   and cold temperatures.
5. Spread everything that you
intend to pack on your bed first.
6. Fit underwear and socks down
the sides of the case when it is
   full, rather than filling up
   valuable space in the middle.
7. Use travel size toiletries to save
space and place them in a
   plastic bag to protect your
clothes from leaks (or use the
  toiletries from home )
8. Don’t pack valuables in any
   luggage that will leave your
   possession during your journey.
9. Rolling clothes is a good way to
   reduce wrinkles (works
   especially good for filling a
   backpack).
10. Consider what you will be
  bringing back from home and
  leave enough space.
11. If in doubt, leave it out. You
are more likely to take too much
than too little. If you run out of
  clothes, try some hand washing!
12. Pack fragile items in the
  center of the case, surrounded
  and protected by soft clothes.
