WHAT IS HORMONE?
Hormones are chemical messengers.
They are secreted by glands into the blood.
There are 10 glands in our body, 3 in the brain
and 7 others along the central of the body.
Hormones cause necessary changes in the body
by sending out signals. This happens when
hormones travel to reach the hormone
receptors on target cells.
Hormones are broken down by the liver.
WHAT IS ADRENALINE?
A type of hormone that is produced by the
adrenal glands, located at the top of the liver.
Adrenaline is made to help you prepare for
stressful/dangerous situations.
Because it is a type of hormone, adrenaline is
broken down by the liver, too.
WHAT DOES
ADRENALINE DO?
Adrenaline triggers the body's
fight or flight response.
Adrenaline increases your heart
rate, breathing rate and blood
flow to the muscles.
It also dilates your pupil to allow
more light in which helps you see
better.
