GROUP 1 -POEM
Teachers are leaders, are they?
Well, teaching is leading too.
Leadership in teaching is like treasure in a basket.
Or a flavor in a dish. What does it mean?
Well, obviously all teachers can teach! But not all of them can lead.
Developing leadership skills is what we need!
See? This profession has so much in need.
And you have to work with passion to succeed
Tomorrow you’ll blame me because you didn’t believe.
I’ll give you some advice.
Listen cuz’ I won’t repeat it twice.
Here are some ways that teaching and leadership go hand in hand;
First start by developing strong vision for your classroom,
It is the primary aspect of leadership.
As teacher, you should start the school year by setting the vision
for students’ success looks like in the classroom.
Second, take strategic action to reach the vision every day,
Mapping out strategy to make that vision true is component key.
Setting long-term and short-term goals for what you
Want your student to achieve and determining how you’ll work with students,
Parents and your school team is your way to reach that goal.
Third, adept at building relationship across lines of difference
Strong leaders are masters of relationship building.
Unique opportunity to build relationships with a diverse group of
faculty and staff are what you can get thru teaching.
The most critical skills that you can develop as leaders right now as our
world becomes more interconnected and diverse are possible thru learning.
Lastly, continually push yourself to learn and improve.
Learning from mistake, seeking feedback and continuing
to evolve are among the traits of effective leaders.
