About the Book title: “How to become a Gutsy Money-Maker”

Thought to write this book was sparked in the mind of the author, after knowing SEBI Study
dated January 23,2023 for the period FY19 to FY22 and FY23. The findings revealed
alarming statistics: 90% (9 out of 10)of individual traders in Futures & Options-Eq. and 71%
(7 out of 10) in Cash Segment-Equity (Intra-day), incurred losses. These findings left the
author deeply aggrieved and motivated them to explore the reasons behind such high loss
rates, offering guide to investing & trading.
The Author, with over 35 years of experience in the stock-broking business and 20 years in
merchant banking, with a deep passion for research since 1990, has interacted with millions
of investors over the years. Troubled by the compelling statistics revealing the high rate of
losses among individual traders, the author sought to understand the underlying reasons
behind these disheartening outcomes.
This journey of research and discovery culminated in the creation of a book, dedicated to the
millions of individuals who aspire to build their fortune in the markets, yet often end up
losing their capital. The author hopes to shed light on the common pitfalls and provide
valuable insights to help these traders avoid such fates. The stock market can often appear
deceptively easy, drawing many in with the promise of quick profits. However, once someone
enters this world, they can quickly find themselves trapped by its complexities.
The book begins by tracing the evolution of the stock markets, offering readers a
foundational understanding of how these markets have developed over time. It then delves
into the reasons why derivatives are essential tools in modern trading, and for which category
of market participants they are most suitable. The book emphasizes the importance of
answering the 5 W's before entering the stock market arena:
i)What is the Objective; ii) What are expectations in Return; iii) What are the
Resources at disposal; iv) What is the waiting Time; v)What are the Options
As the book progresses, it focuses on the core principles of investing and discusses the
essential strategies needed to navigate the stock markets.
One of the chapters in the book focuses on the concept of Speed, emphasizing that in the
stock market, speed can either "kill or thrill." It highlights the dangers of rushing into
decisions without proper analysis versus the advantages of acting swiftly when opportunities
arise. Another chapter addresses the debate between Short-term vs. Long-term Investing.
The book also includes a Self-test to help readers assess whether they are truly ready to enter
the stock market. This test serves as a guide for individuals to evaluate their financial literacy,
emotional preparedness, and risk tolerance.
Chapter 11, titled "Mutual Funds Sahi Hai," the book dives into the intricacies of mutual
fund investing. It unpacks common tricks, hidden fees, and the various charges that investors
may not always be aware of.
Chapter 14 pays tribute to some of the world's greatest investors, such as Warren Buffett,
Charlie Munger, and Benjamin Graham. This chapter explores their timeless investment
philosophies and teachings, emphasizing the principles they followed in their successful
careers.
In a nutshell, the writer has distilled his valuable 35 years of experience into this
comprehensive 250-page book, covering key areas that are essential for anyone looking to
navigate the stock market successfully. This book serves as a guide to help individuals avoid
common pitfalls, make informed decisions, and ultimately build wealth.
