I. Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
Use base-ten blocks to accurately and quickly solve addition problems with sums up to 100,
without regrouping.
Add numbers with sums up to 100 mentally using appropriate strategies.
Demonstrate enthusiasm and interest in learning how to add numbers up to 100

cubes), and 100s (a square made of ten bars).

When adding using place value chart, follow these steps:

2. Add the ones.
3. Add the tens.
It is easier to add mentally when you know how to make the
sum of 10 in your head. Use number combinations to make
the sum of 10.
