5. Using a syringe, pull ink into the dampers and plug in the dampers on the head.

6. Before plugging the head cables onto the carriage board, turn the machine on and do a
manual pump/ inking function, to fill the head with ink. Make sure that the ink comes out
into the waste ink bottle as you do the pump.

7. Once ink is properly flowing through the head, turn the

machine off again and plug in the head cables to the carriage
connector.
a. While facing the printer, the cable on the left right side
on the head goes to the bottom slot of the connector
(normally labeled “right”) and the cable from the left
side goes on the top, (normally label;rd “left”)
b. Make sure that every pin on the belt is aligned to
every track on the connector.
c. If, on either end of the belt, if the cable pins are not
aligned with the tracks, you will find your head giving
error code 16.
d. If you get error code 16, simply turn the machine
off, wait for about 60 seconds, then unplug the
connector and check if the pins on the cables are
aligned with the tracks on the connector and/or
on the head.
