  United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
Established in 1945, the United Nations Security
Council (UNSC) is one of the five principal organs of
the United Nations, charged with the maintenance of
international peace and security as well as accepting
new members to the United Nations and approving
any changes to UN Charter.
    The five basic principles of the United
              Nations (UN) are:
Peace and security
The UN's central mission is to maintain international peace and
security. The Security Council is the main organ responsible for
this.
 Human rights
The UN promotes and protects human rights, which include
civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights.
 International law
The UN upholds international law.
 Development
The UN focuses on development, including the importance of
people, the planet, prosperity, governance, and women and
girls.
 International cooperation
The UN works to achieve international cooperation to solve
international issues.
It is the only UN body with the authority to issue
binding resolutions to member states.
The United Nations Security Council has 15 members,
including five permanent members and ten non-permanent
members:
Permanent members
These members have veto power and include China,
France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States

Recently, Pakistan, Somalia, Denmark, Greece, and
Panama have been chosen as non-permanent
members of the UN Security Council (UNSC), serving a
2-year term from 1st January 2025 to 31st December
2026.
India's participation in the Security Council has been
as a non-permanent member during the periods of
1950-51, 1967-68, 1972-73, 1977-78, 1984-85, 1991-
92, 2011-12, and 2021-22.
